Makes somewhat sense. If Connor wants to transfer Arkansas has a good baseball program. Patrick will not lose a year of eligibility and has a young team after this year. Also may not like Iowa City.
Fran is in an ideal situation especially with Pat and Connor where they are.
No harm in seeing what they're offering but doubt Fran leaves unless an offer where way better or it's Duke, Kentucky or UNC.

I'm not buying it. Hard to see what he gains with that move, which is at best lateral. And he's unlikely to find another AD who is as big a bonehead as the guy he gets to deal with now when it comes to throwing cash and extensions at coaches. He can stay where he's at, make the tourney field a couple of the times over the next 5 years and ride the gravy train to retirement.

I can't imagine Fran leaving at this point. But lets face it, as fans we don't really know all that goes on at Iowa or with Fran's family that may make them want to move to a new opportunity. Heck, it might just be that at this point in his career he wants a new challenge before retiring. Wonder what would happen with our roster though, would many transfer?
A change of scenery may be good for Fran. Him and Big Ten refs do not get along at all.
I could see little dickie pitino leaving if offered. Loses Murphy and few other seniors plus coffey could go pro. Fresh start somewhere else for him. Always kind of felt like Minny job was a stepping stone job for him. Also be amazing if Alfrod gets it and somehow lands another power 5 job.
Fran turns 60 next month and he is not named Larry Brown. This is so unlikely that it’s almost unfathomable.
Especially with another kid still still in grade(?) school. Given Fran’s contract I’d have to think it would take a pretty significant step forward in terms of pay and job prestige to consider leaving.

Fran is no dummy. You're always going to take a meeting and listen.
Maybe Fran would like to get down South where it is easier to recruit athletes that fit his style like Pearl at auburn.
Some people want a fresh start. Especially when a fanbase chooses the play by play guy over you and your player.
Maybe Barta has encouraged Fran and his temper to look at other opportunities???? A mutual parting of the ways.. Gary May have realized this is the best outcome for both Fran and the athletic department??? Maybe??? One could hope????

I guess so he wouldn’t have to deal with life long fans that long for a consistent top 25 program competing for a shot at conference titles....
Next year WILL be a very very good year, if Fran stays. Just saying...
Only problem is if Fran leaves now, we face two major issues....
1. Expect transfers galore and probably guys we don't want to see go....whether you secretly want them to or not
2. At this point, we're not gonna get any kind of established coach to step in and salvage things right away, especially if guys leave.

He won't get along with refs in any conference.
Arkansas is a third tier job, take it if you want to be in serious risk of being fired in five years.

CJ may leave as the only reason he came was for family connections to Fran
Joe T who knows? May desire the challenge of playing in the Big Ten and would get decent minutes as a freshman since we would lose a PG.

You guys understand this is coming from a message board reporter for New Mexico right? The same New Mexico that loves trolling Iowa fans, and probably hates Nevada like the rest of their conference. The amount of people assuming this guy knows his stuff is unreal. Fran isn’t going anywhere, especially when next season is his opportunity to earn a fat new contract if they can get to the Sweet 16. SMH
