Uh, I bet Bohannon doesn't miss two FTs with time running out. Not blaming JoeT for the loss, but in that situation, I want JBo in the game taking those FTs.
You mean play the same guy that missed two free throws that would have sealed the game and then gave up the game tying basket?
He was in the game, Minny passed on fouling him but had him trapped.
Absolutely 💯!! Joe T was playing well, but you don't want him taking free throws late. That's on coaches.
JBo doesn't even get the free throws because he's too slow after 2 hip surgeries to get past his defender and draw fouls.
The reason we came back in the second half was because Joe T came in and started driving and dishing. Our offense is absolutely stagnant with JBo at the point and his defense is really bad. He's a great kid but he's not the player he was. He should be getting 10-15 minutes a game.
Iowa is far better offensively and defensively with Joe T in there.

I’m fine with Joe T taking free throws at the end. He’s a good free throw shooter. It sucks he missed these two, but this is good experience for him. CJF missed more than his share of free throws, as did others.
JBo has had a great career, but his time needs to be over. Joe T is head and shoulders above him in every facet of the game. JBo doesn’t even make shots anymore, and that’s all he had
JBO hasn't been very good at anything recently, but you don't give up over 100 to any team without the entire team defense being abysmal.

J Bo is taking the big shots trying to be the man, but he’s not playing like he did 2 years ago. Shot selection was poor overall in the second half. I think Minnesota was 5-5 from 3 in OT. Sometimes you get what you deserve.
Yeah, I don’t think he’s saying Joe T is an all-american. However, JBo is a 3pt specialist who is shooting under 30% from 3 this year. He can’t stay in front of anyone on defense and has no ability to create on offense. We gave JBo the final shot and he didn’t have the speed to get up court anywhere. Two missed FTs don’t change that Joe T is the better player.

Anyone with eyes could see the difference of play on both ends of the floor between the 2. Sucks joeT missed both those ft’s, but cj missing 2-3 which would have made it a 3poss game, then missing another a few minutes later hurt just as bad or worse. It was just a very piss poor attempt at finishing a game off. Teams that are supposed to be top5 don’t lose games in that fashion
Joe t free throws did not cost iowa the win. Cj missed garza missed garza getting hacked and bad 3 pt shooting again when needed cost iowa.
So did every other missed free throw by all players during the game. As did every turnover, missed shot, missed assignment on defense, etc.
Anyone who blames the loss on the player who misses free throws late (and doesn’t take into account free throws missed by each player earlier in the game) doesn’t understand the game.
Not as bad as giving up 45 in second half and 19 in overtime. Or weezy's 3-13 from field or CJs 1-3 or 34 mins of little to nothing from connor (anybody could accrue assists feeding our scorers). JoeT played 17 mins and provided a boost. Blame the guys who played. Pat coming in before Keegan and playing more is a total joke. Fran's nepotism sucks just like Kirk's. Rooting for Nep U gets old
Joe T made big late-game free throws last year as a freshman. Weird how short, or lazy and bitch-minded, people’s memories are.

Um, he makes one of those and the 3 at the end of regulation doesn't matter. Again, that's fact. Again, JT should start. Fran should give JT that chance to close it out every game. Ahron Ulis is a stud. Outplayed Morgan Park who had 3 high major players including Adam Miller.

From what I've seen hes ready to play if there was time available and would probably be an upgrade in allot of ways.
Should CJ have been out too? How about Weisy? They both missed a couple.
I appreciated the very positive comments of the color guy (name escapes me) made about Joe T. I agree with others who have said that Joe T needs to play significantly more minutes. He may be the only player we have who can defend against very quick athletes one-on-one and break down a defense. We ought to have two or three players on the roster at all times who have that ability and are ready to play.
You are probably right but currently JBo is shooting just 50% on the year from the line. He's only attempted two shots, making just one. Two free throws in nine games tells a lot about his game right now.
I have never seen a fan base so in love with a player that has shown absolutely nothing but speed. Hasn’t shown good decision making, hasn’t shown a good shot, hasn’t shown a good assist/TO ratio, hasn’t even shown good defense without fouling. He looks promising in many ways but almost every game he has shown more holes in his game than he has good execution. I like him and think his future could be fairly bright but he really hasn’t done anything yet.
