Franklin

Was it a serious injury? I don't know, I'm asking, because I didn't watch the game. I mean, players get boo boos and there are injury time outs all the time. If the injury was anything like what happened to Gordon Hayward during the Celtics/Cavs game, I could maybe see the point.

I don't get what the OP is trying to say. Franklin was laughing that the kid got hurt? Was not on one knee genuflecting and frowning stoically while invoking Mother Mary, the saints, and holy angels to pray for the injured player?

I have no clue. I don't think Franklin even knew there was an injury, he was talking to his assistant and they shared a laugh. To think the guy is going to laugh at a kid getting injured is just dumb.

I agree. And I'm guessing the OP would take Franklin as the next head coach at Iowa in a heartbeat.

So your love for KF is because hes nice guy but can't consistently win football games? Thats what Iowa football has become?

Personally, I'd take a meanie if it meant we wouldn't be embarrassed in bowl games year after year

Nice guys can also show some passion and fire up the team. How in the world does anyone tell when he is fired up? Chewing his gum faster? Just asking!

And just think, a couple of years ago Penn State received the "Death Sentence" from the NCAA. Lost scholarships, players left, no post season bowl games. Everybody was saying how this would affect them for years with recruiting. Who would want to go there with the sanctions etc. Yet here we are, a new coach with new blood and getting results.
There is no reason Iowa should not be able to compete. All you Ferentz/Barta Kool-Aid drinkers need to open you damn eyes! Remember just a few short years ago, Wisconsin sucked ass in pretty much everything. With a culture change they are now competitive in pretty much everything. Doesn't seem to matter who the coach is, they get results with home grown Wisconsin lineman etc.
Iowa has the facilities, and the $ to get things done. Until you shove the Ferentz/Barta dynasty out of town things will continue to go downhill.
I think even the Clown coach sitting in Ferentz chair would get things done in Iowa City.
you have never had the level or recruits PSU has, yet alone Bama's.. you are in a region that lacks talent. Your budget is big, but not top of the BIG big. Fire coaches for not winning titles at Iowa and you will never have a coach get past year 3.. while your team will be in shatters... ask Pitt.

What a classless POS. His team is crushing Michigan, and he's on the sideline laughing it up with his Offensive Coordinator while a Michigan player is laying on the field injured. It's hard to respect him when he does things like that. I wonder if he'll try to ice the Michigan kicker if he gets a chance tonight.
Are you that butt hurt about the last second loss that you have to make crap up? Just so happened I watched the replay this morning. Were Franklin and JoMo talking during the injury timeout? Yes. Did both Franklin and JoMo smile at times during the conversation? Yes. Were they "laughing" it up? Absolutely not. Didn't see Franklin come close to laughing. JoMo at one point kind of smirked, but laughing it up is a gross over statement on your part.
Plus, they were obviously talking about game planning because Franklin was covering his mouth. Are they supposed to take a knee?
We easily could have scored another TD at the end if we wanted to...Franklin chose to slow roll it.
Good luck the rest of the way.

Once again lay out the region lacking talent. Madison Wisconsin is 176 miles from Iowa City. I'm not buying the region is lacking argument when college recruiting is a nation wide deal. Ask yourself how Michigan State, Wisconsin or even Boise State gets good talent? Do recruits really like playing on a frozen blue rug in Boise Idaho? We have the facilities, the money, the atmosphere. We are lacking a coaching staff with a pulse and a fan base the accepts mediocrity. We should have had some good recruits after the season when we played in the Big 10 title game, but the national embarrassment of the Rose Bowl probably negated any headway we made that season. Also playing the cupcake schedule to get 3 or 4 easy wins before conference play kind of backfires when the cupcakes beat you.

This was a payback game for Michigan running up the score on Penn State last year. I prefer teams to take a knee at the end and be happy with a one point win but the polls and the CFP system have changed all that. Now it’s not just who won, but it’s how much you won by. I’d rather have a system where the champions of each conference go to a playoff rather than the weighted poll system we have now.

I mean it's always been that way. It's actually probably less so now then back in the BCS days when you had to be top two or even before that when you had your bowl tie ins solely done by conference. Style points mattered even more then.

I loved PSU running up the score on Michigan, I would have been even more aggressive with it. Harbaugh did it to them last year, time for some payback.

Wisconsin.. the team that falls over every time tOSU or PSU runa a pass route?? Solid team, but hardly the poster child for dominant recruits.. they are like Iowa with a better system... Maryland has more athletes than Wisky does. Boise gets 65% of the recruits from Cali.. as does Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Wash State.. The honest truth is that if you put Kirk at Rutgers or Maryland he could go further than he could at Iowa... draw a 300 circle around Iowa and you hit no talent. At least Wisky is in proximity to Chicago and Milwaukee.

What the hell are you talking about? Fire coaches before they're here 3 years? What board do you think you're on?
