Free Mulvey

You always were big fan of Fran--- There is only 1 guy that decides who plays and his name is Fran. Yeah we didn't get to see how well Mulvey would be able to defend the Illinois 7ft. Dimbele was terrible. Braun better. Mulvey didn't get much PT. The Illini 7ft'er was most of the difference in 1st half when Iowa was still in the game.

Iowa needs to bring in a 7ft guy for defensive matchups for next season. Hopefully we get a new coach that knows how to build a roster. I don't see much guard talent on the team either, especially if Dix transfers out.

Plays great for 20 minutes in a game against Washington to help us pick up a win then rides the bench for all but 4 minutes against a 7 footer who torches Dembele, Brauns and Kingsbury.

Fran, release this able bodied 7 footer from bench jail!
100% agree
Fran is coaching like he is in cognitive decline
And the IOWA press is compliant

He had a TO and a missed shot in like 30 seconds and got pulled on the next time out
The turnover and shot was not his fault, he got fed the ball deep and no one cut open to pass it to. Honestly, I appreciated the aggressiveness against their 7 footer. He also had a rebound.

All in 3 minutes. Maybe a larger sample size was warranted after the last game? Hell, Payton played 37 minutes and was a turnover brick machine. Kingsbury was repeatedly burned. On one occasion he actually had position a guy that was driving and left him to guard a perimeter player without the ball! Yet he got 20 minutes. Absurd.

I recall the missed shot where he had the ball late in the shot clock and had to try to make a move. Don’t recall the TO. Looked at the game stats and showed him with zero TOs. What was his TO?

Yep, he and Brock had 8 turnovers between them. They should have sat a few more minutes.

Who was playing so well that they deserved more time than them?
Dix only played 31 minutes, could have moved him to the point for a few more minutes. Without Thelwell though, that's a tough call. Can't say anyone played well against Illini. I will say BH shot the ball well for a change. Too bad it was in a losing effort. But there were some very silly turnovers.

I wonder if Fran isn’t trying to get fired so he can get paid in full on his contract with his decision making or lack thereof. It’s been 15 years of .500 league play with a few highlights. Time to move on and give someone else a chance. Pay him to go away. Thanks for turning the program around now go watch your son play bball in Indianapolis.

He's probably pissed about not getting extended last year.
