6 of 16...Izzo was right, Iowa's a bad free throw shooting team.
Stuff happens. I doubt they will ever have another free shooting game like that. On to the tournament. Win two games and maybe they get another shot at Illinois.
Iowa wins easily if they make their free throws: the players have no one to blame for not getting Thursday off but themselves.
What do you disagree with? Iowa lost by 2 and missed 12 free throws.
Murrays are the two best players.....gotta play Kris more---gets Cockburn out of the paint and only way to get him in foul trouble because refs let him do what he wants in paint.

Big game for Illini.....not so huge for Iowa...they miss the double bye, but if they can't beat Cornhuskers or Indiana, they don't deserve BTT anyway.

tough loss but pretty proud of this team. Outside of Free throws they played great in probably the toughest environment hey have played in this year. like someone else said flush his one and move forward. Really like the direction this team is going in

I am not happy with the officiating, but that did not cost Iowa the game. Iowa attempted 22 free throws, but only made 10. I would not have expected Iowa to shoot more free throws than Illinois coming into this game.
That's such bullshit. So what's the magic ft % where officials should be accountable for a shitty job? So the rebounding and other good areas don't count because 1 part of their game was off? Nonsense
True, Nebraska or Indiana quite capable of winning....but if you want to win BTT, you gotta be able to put all comers away.
Fran has pretty poor record in BTT, this year is as good as any to change it. I don't think the Murrays want to go out with a loss at Illini and then losing to Nebraska in BTT.
Off nights happen. If you listened to Tony P post game, you'll get excited for post season. These guys aren't head hanging and know they should have won this game. They will be fine!
No, blaming the officials is bullshit. The officials cost Iowa a chance to win the game against Rutgers with the last second foul call, not tonight.
I do understand the rules and did watch the game. I have said the officiating was not good tonight. That being said, Iowa had plenty of chances to win the game. Blaming the officials is the lazy way out.

The refs were horseshit, that's for certain. But, missing 12 fts is an ugly stat. Imagine if we made just half of those.
They called fouls, we went to the line and missed far too many free throws. FREE Throws.

I get it. HOWEVER imagine we make those and get a couple less boards that cost us. Nobody would excuse the officiating because we got 2 less rebounds.

Most of Iowa’s conference wins have been by 10 plus points. Record in close games remains an issue. At this point, see what happens in tournament play.
I've been saying for a while now that Keegan's FT shooting was becoming an issue, but Kris decided to join that party in a big way as well, unfortunately.
