Free throws killed us

I've been saying for a while now that Keegan's FT shooting was becoming an issue, but Kris decided to join that party in a big way as well, unfortunately.

It finally caught up to us at the worst time.

I mostly agree. If Iowa was going to have a night like this, I would prefer it to have been tonight as opposed to in the B10 or NCAA tournament. I expect the players will be extra motivated after tonight.

You can say that about ANY team in ANY close game.
So again, refs are never to blame I guess

I blame the refs for costing Iowa a chance to win the Rutgers game, so no I have not said the refs are never to blame. It really sucks that the Rutgers game cost Iowa the fourth seed in the tournament.

One could say the same about the PSU game when the blatant travel was not called at the end of the first OT.

Iowa lost this game at the FREE throw line. Period. End of story. Iowa shot 22 and made 10, or 45.5 %. Illinois shot 18 and made 14 or 77.8 %. There's your game. Make any reasonable amount of FREE throws and we win a two possession game on the road. Great effort, didn't pan out.

Kofi wasn't fouling anybody at the FREE throw line. I watched the game, both Teams were unguarded at the FREE throw line. Make them and you go home a winner. Illinois did, they won. Simple.
