From your friends in Lincoln.

At the end of the day I get their celebrating. When you can't beat a team then you have to put all your fruit in someone else's basket I guess.
If Kinnick had some type of technology that allowed for highlights of games to be played before the game started - who is a team in college football the Iowa fans wouldn’t cheer with that type of play?

In fairness the crowd had a louder cheer for Notre Dame’s highlight than Iowa’s.

It’s an exciting play for non-fans and had Iowa had been the one making the kick there would have been the same amount of cheers due to the excitement of the play.

You're going to come here and tell us that Nebraska fans would've enthusiastically cheered Iowa winning in that fashion. My guess is they'd be hoping for wide left.

I think a lot of schools show game ending links/updates like that. I would bet the FG attempt at the end of the ND game was shown everywhere and most of the Big 10 and Big 12 showed the Cyclones FG.
It was. I've seen dozens of final plays of other games on the big screen tvs while watching a game in Memorial Stadium. We used to cheer if Texas or Missouri lost too. You know, like normal fans.

Miserable Iowa fans have to think of ways to feel relevant though.

This is correct.

If I were them and we had a team that we couldn't consistently beat for like a decade, I would be happy to see them lose also. I have no problem with it as Iowa should be mocked for blowing that game.

Love the Nebby hype!

They've beaten UTEP and a lousy Colorado team.

Reality is coming soon.
Nebby now has very talented soon to be very good qb. He will be much better than that 3x transfer guy that tore up the Hawk D at Kinnick two years ago. Plus Husker D is for real, they can cover the new Os, unlike Iowa's 1990 D scheme, that only works vs really bad teams.

Just remember, Nebraska fans don’t consider Iowa a rival.

True but they really, really don't like Iowa so there is bad blood and rancor both ways. I remember one of their radio announcers about 6 years ago asking another announcer if he would rather win 4 games but lose to Iowa or go 1-11 but BEAT Iowa.

He said "Beat Iowa" instantly.

After getting rolled over for most of the last Decade, Husker fans eally shouldn't be talking yet but ya gotta take your wins when they come I guess.

In any case, whatever is going on between Nebraska and Iowa is real. Until either program rises above mediocrity- which would require Nebraska to recapture mediocrity in the first place- all we have is each other conjoined in misery on the plains.

Okay, Diana Taurasi.

Nebraska is probably going to beat Iowa this year.
Yeah. That's going to be a rough out. Nebby, for the first time in a decade or more, is actually good. Good coach, good QB with legitimate talent all around him, and a defense that is legitimate. I welcome it honestly. I want to beat Nebby when they're actually good.

I've been ragging on them the last few years because it was obviously all hype. This Nebby team is different. Anybody that isn't concerned about them is only going off the recent history. Gonna be a tough game IMO.

Nebraska is like Iowa but with way better recruits.
Matt Rhule has them headed in the right direction. They will probably be solid for the foreseeable future.

If this season plays out like I suspect it will, it’s going to be interesting how much pressure there will be on the new AD to twist Kirk’s arm into retiring.

Nebraska will finish above Iowa in the standings this year. Mark it down.

Unless something unforeseen happens and the Iowa offense suddenly gets much better, they’ll be lucky to win 7 games.
I still think 8-9 brother. We were able to do that the last three years basically, with a similar schedule, and no offense. I think our offense this year is already better than the last three years were but it's obviously still not good. The one thing I'm noticing is our ST isn't nearly as good which could support your stance because we are so reliant on punting. That might be where the 7 is viable.

Long season to go…if their young QB were to get hurt, they are in big trouble.

Very true statement. Yes, a lot of what I'm saying is dependent on him. An injury does change all of that.
