Frost to Florida

Frost was never going to Nebraska. Just because their message boards are an echo chamber, doesn't make it true.

If I were Frost I would take the Florida job over Nebraska every day of the week and twice on Sunday. The gator program has far greater potential than the huskers have.

Yep. Exponentially more in-state talent and play in a weak SEC East. Easy decision, in my opinion.

Hmmmmm .... Florida? Talent, weather, SEC, play Georgia every year, FSU, Miami. Did I mention talent and weather?

Nebraska? B1G, uh, get to play Iowa every year, live in Lincoln o_O, uh, get to travel all over the US for recruits, get to play NW every year, and Purdue, and Minny ... I'm getting sleepy ....

On ESPN.com. Begging much?

New Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos extensively praised UCF coach Scott Frost when asked about the former Husker star on Tuesday.

Speaking with KOZN radio in Omaha, Moos said Frost "has got the full package" as a coach and expects Frost to be leading a Power 5 program "probably sooner than later." Frost would be considered a primary candidate for Nebraska's coaching job if the school chooses to make a change.

Moos, hired earlier this month to replace Shawn Eichorst, said he would wait until the end of the season to evaluate third-year coach Mike Riley. The Huskers are 4-4 this season and 19-15 overall (12-10 in the Big Ten) under Riley.

Frost, who went 24-2 as Nebraska's quarterback and helped the Huskers to a share of the 1997 national title, is 7-0 in his second season at UCF, which ranks No. 15 in the latest AP Poll. Asked by host Nick Bahe if he is following Frost's progress this season, Moos replied, "Well, Scott, of course, has a great resume. ... He has learned from some of the great football minds in the business, throughout the years both at the college level and the professional ranks."

Moos praised Frost's work as an assistant at Oregon, where Moos served as athletic director from 1995 to 2007. He added that the only gap in Frost's profile was being a head coach and that he "has handled that superbly, from afar, as I look at it."

"Of course, he does have the roots here, raised in the state of Nebraska and playing for the icon that Tom Osborne is. A lot of things very positive," Moos said. "Scott is going to coach in a Power 5 [program], and probably sooner than later. He's paid his dues, and I've been quite impressed."

Frost's name has already come up for the Florida job after the firing of Jim McElwain on Sunday.

Well, you haven't talked with too many Husker fans, evidently.
They have him leading them to the National Champ game, next year.

o_O
Yet in the same breath they talk about how they’ll have “patience” with him because he’s “one of them...”

I believe Frost to Nebraska - reasoning, a friends brother who is a high level recruit from near KC who had zero contact with UCF all of a sudden is hearing from a number of UCF coaches, within the past week. Something is up. Although the recruit has heard from Florida on a regular basis,,,,so could be there too.

Funny you should mention that. I also have a friend of a cousins uncle that has heard from a high level midwest recruit and he is hearing from UCF and Tennessee all of a sudden? Maybe Frost is going to Tennessee?

I never felt he was a slam dunk for the fact that as a player he bypassed Nebraska initially to go to Stanford. No matter how much he professes love for the place you know he's not a true believer for whatever Kool aid they offer.

And soon they will lose their sh*t.....almost wanna make my first trip over to their boards. ;)

While I go pop my popcorn, can you provide the link to the best Husker message board?

Gotta feel bad for the Huskers now and for their future!

After all, the Huskers get rid of you after 3 years if you are not winning at least 10 games a year!

I guess Frost didn't exactly get a warm homecoming after transferring back from Stanford. Locker room took a year or so to come around and the Peter brothers beat the crap out of him on scout team. Actually a pretty good detailed read here:

"a friends brother who is a high level recruit from near KC who had zero contact with UCF all of a sudden is hearing from a number of UCF coaches, within the past week" Huh?? How does this equate to Frost going to the Huskers?

Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope we can beat Ohio St., hope we can become bowl eligible, hope Wadley breaks out, and yes, hope that Frost goes to Florida and hope the Huskers lose their sh*t.
Hope can drive a man insane.

Ya! My cousins girlfriend whose brother is in prison in Florida, is in contact with a recruiter for USF, who told him that Florida is hoping to land Frost but in initial talks he wants the same salary as Saban and a spot for his son (when he gets older) as an offensive coordinator.

Hope is a good thing. Maybe the best of things.
