We should have a FSU HORT meetup next year in Iowa. I’m wondering which would be better, a game in IC or a house party along the Ragbrai route.

Ragbrai is a good time but not nearly as much fun as an Iowa tailgate on Melrose for night game in late Sept/early October.
No. You're probably going to fly into Chicago and then drive or fly to Iowa City or Cedar Rapids respectively. Driving time is approx 30 minutes from Cedar Rapids or 3.5 hours from O'Hare.

Fly into cedar rapids or DSM and go over to Iowa City. It's about an hour longer from Des Moines, but the capital city has way more to do if you're going to spend a few days. We have El Bait Shop, voted the 14th best beer bar in America by some publication last year. 260 beers on tap.

Dont drive from/to Ohare. Major airports are just way to busy now. Midway is OK.

But this is Hawkeye Beacon, we all have our own private aircrafts.
We have a good tailgate going in Finkbine (Lot 65). Same spot and same people around us for 10 years. I think it should be a HORT progressive tailgate. Drinks and food and a handful of tailgates. Get a good feel for all the different game day tailgate spots and scene around Kinnick. Are we wearing our avatars like a button? If I have you on ignore is there a time out spot you go to when at my tailgate?
