Chris Kingsbury shoots long distance to win an OT game. Certainly a fun watch for what a difference the 3pt shot had/has on the game of BKB.
What a shocker that game was. Many, including myself, thought Alford was the savior of the program and would lead the Hawkeyes to new heights. Didn't turn out that way but it was still a fun game to watch.

Sorry, I thought the GASO was in '99. Think we played Bobby Knight and the hoosiers in the champioship game and lost.Wrong UConn win, that was in 1999 at MSG. Beating UConn twice though during that time were impressive wins though.

Anyone one know what Kingsbury's stats were in the final? He had a great game against UConn, but I know the Hawks as a team were only 4-20 against Duke. He was so hot and cold, it wouldn't surprise me if he was 2-10 from 3, or something like that.
Anyone have highlights of the Alaska Shootout, Iowa v. Cal Irvine Ant Eaters. That was a far more fun game to watch. I believe it was the 86-87 season. It featured a Irvine player named "Scotty" Brooks who then played in the NBA and became Scott Brooks, coach of the Oklahoma Thunder etc.
Thanks for the correction. Got a video to that? They played in 1986-1987 in Long Beach, CA on 12/29/1986 in the Anteater Classic. Iowa won 105-103.
Don't want that version Haha. I broke my VCR after the unlv meltdown.I have the VHS of the night the Anteaters took Iowa down in 93

Didn't the Hawks get beaten by Long Beach State at some point under Davis? I was thinking an NIT maybe, but could have been an OOC game.
Fun fact, my grandparents were the Hawkeye fans at that game that were shown during the broadcast leading into a commercial. They played in 1986-1987 in Long Beach, CA on 12/29/1986 in the Anteater Classic. Iowa won 105-103.
Scotty Brooks was unconscious in that game and we still pulled it off. Someone upload por favor.Fun fact, my grandparents were the Hawkeye fans at that game that were shown during the broadcast leading into a commercial.
That was a very exciting game!
If anybody has a video of it, please post it.
They got their butts kicked by D2 UC-Riverside in 1988 on Christmas Day when ranked #4 in the country. 1-1 vs Long Beach State all time, but win was in '93 and loss in '10.
