A Book Fair benefiting Wrestling for Life will be going on in the store during the event. A percentage of all the evening's sales will be donated to WFL. Please join us and stop by our table.

Got my invite in the mail GG...unfortunately I won't be able to attend, but have passed the word on to my dad and brother who still live in CR. Hopefully a lot of the Cedar Rapids brethren can make this a great night for you!

Jim, i didn't want to seem cheap, so I donated the $40, but it is for the book and use the rest for whatever you think is best.

"Gary Kurdelmeier (the architect) wanted to make Iowa one of the top wrestling programs in the nation, and his plan to get there was simple: get multimillionaire Roy Carver from Muscatine involved with the wrestling program and start the Hawkeye Wrestling Club for post-graduates to be able to train for the Olympics with the Hawkeye team. Next, get me to be his assistant coach. With Gary's guidance, this all became a reality."

Just so I'm clear on this, the book will be addressing events that occurred in college west king prior to 2011, correct?;)

The information in the book spans from the '50s to early this year.
 
Very disappointed -- Went into the Coralville Barnes & Noble at 8:20 PM & Dan Gable was already gone -- Facebook event said 7:00 - 9:30 PM!

Well the tweet you just linked, shows Jun 8th. The 2nd one shows Jun 14th. Not sure what to tell you. Do you know of anybody who was at the June 7th (or todays) event? maybe they can fill you in on the details.

An employee of the Coralville Barnes & Noble said that Dan Gable was there earlier but then left -- I have cash for 5 copies of the book -- If I purchase them from Amazon or ebay, doe WFL get any benefit?

Ah, my bad. It seemed like it might have been a miscommunication at first, but who knows, maybe it was really slow and figured he'd call it an early night or other obligations came up. Not sure on the WFL, GG would know best. If you purchase through Amazon smile you can set it up so the HWC receives money.

Our book fair is tonight during Dan's event at the Cedar Rapids Barnes and Noble. There are three ways you can buy the book AND benefit Wrestling for Life.

1. Attend tonight's event in Cedar Rapids. We will be there and we get a percentage of ALL store sales if you mention Wrestling for Life at checkout.

2. You can donate $26 per book at http://www.wrestlingforlife.org/index.php/donate ($23 for the book and $3 for postage) by 2;00 PM today. I will buy them, get them signed and mail them to you.

3.You can order online at barnesandnoble.com from today through June 13. Enter coupon code 12157384 at checkout. We get a percentage of your entire purchase.

Any Barnes and Noble in Iowa will have the book and some will have generically signed copies. We no longer benefit from any of the sales, but thanks for thinking of us.
