His dad passed away. He was at the funeral.
I think he was dealing with a family situation. Funeral maybe? Could be completely wrong.
He was not at the game at all Saturday. His father passed away.
I remember he got dinged up a bit on that incompletion in the endzone.
But he came back in.
Wouldn't be surprised if he reaggravated something.
I thought Dunker has played ok. He had a false start though that seemed to get him back in the doghouse. Stephens is having trouble picking up the system. If you notice defenses have really found success with shadow blitzing between Stephens and Jones and sometimes Stephens and Colby. Iowa has struggled at picking up the correct blocks or they're slow to react due to confusion.
Kaleb Johnson needs 10 touches/game on Offense. At a minimum

Another thing that’s not helping is that Jones has been slow at times getting the ball to Petras. Meaning the other 4 linemen are moving before Jones is, providing an opening to slice through.
Not sure why Kirk even bothers to list a #2 QB.
He let his real QB#2 thoughts come out last year when asked about Deuce. Kirk would rather stay home and forfeit

Kaleb Johnson is too good not to be on 2 deeps.
Knowing our coaches, I'm sure that kind of performance out of Kaleb on Saturday has earned him at least a 30% reduction in carries going into this week.

given he is at 168, no way you can fix that in a week. by next year though the staff will bulk him to north of 275
QB seems to be the only position where any preparation for “next man in” just doesn’t exist. Getting another QB snaps during a game just seems prudent to me (and every other coaching staff).

Yeah Black was in a boot after the ISU game. Stec's weight is a typo but it's been a typo for at least the second week. Whoever puts together that trash depth chart in the SID or wherever should be ashamed and if it's not going to be accurate, don't go through the pencil drill of even making one.

We should see an increasing share of downs go to Aaron Graves. Superstar in the making, so let's highlight that making process right now. I think he's ready to start.
