I have the luck of sitting right in front of a football expert (probably even played 35 years ago in high school) who has a gift for loudly commenting on every play. ALL of this comments are cliches he has probably heard on TV. I was thinking of creating a "Obnoxious Fan Cliche Checklist" which I could use to track his progress each game. Please nominate your "favorite" fan cliches to add to my list.
I'll start:
1. Gotta stretch the field vertically
2. We need to set the edge there
3. Gotta highpoint that ball (what does this even mean?*)
4. Keep running it till they stop it
5.
6.
* Once heard an announcer say it means catching the ball at its highest point. That would an impressive athletic feat.
