Teasdale got interviewed by Flo a couple days ago and he had a couple of interesting things to say. He will be competing at Fargo this year. He last competed there 3 years ago. The last couple of years he was on World Teams, and therefore didn't make the trip to North Dakota. He spoke a little bit about committing to Iowa. The interviewer discusses the Brands Bros being built in lightweight training partners and asked how that factored into his decision to come to Iowa. Gavin said "You ain't going to find better lightweight coaches than them." He mentioned that he loves their style and described it as "Go, Go, Go." Incredible how this kid just finished his Sophomore year. He comes off very polished and humbly confident. He's going to be a great get for us. Looking forward to seeing him in Fargo!

He has had a lot of success with that quick low single of his. He's real good at getting his head up and then splitting legs for the finish. Internationally that shot got him into some trouble, with guys countering with crotch lift etc. I'll be curious to see if changes up his game at all in Fargo and works some of his other offense. Kids got a great slide by as well.

Did he say which weight he's going in Fargo? I'd listen for myself if I had a subscription. . . . How about a little help for a guy without Flo-Pro?

No mention of weight... but was really reminded that he didn't make the world team this year.

Im guessing he's going 120 at Fargo but they didn't say. It'll be interesting to see if he goes 120 or 126 given "how big" we've heard he is. Fargo has multiple weigh ins so it's not like weighing in the day before at UWW.

I'm guessing he wrestles up at 126. Murin was at 120 this week, obviously Lee is a 120 lber next school year. I'm guessing Mejia will be at 126 next year and JRent at 132. I know Murin hasn't committed yet, but it sounds like he will in his interviews. That's 5 guys for 2 weights, not counting Jack Wagner and Brock Rathbun who are already there (or will be in a few months). I hope one or two of these guys hits a growth spurt, it's a really great crop of kids and I'd love for all or most of them to make as a starters for the Hawks.

Interesting to hear what was said about Spencer Lee..."freakishly strong" as well as quick. He also said that they talked after the OTT's in IC, and both came away with very favorable impressions of Iowa then, and decided to make that their pick.

Gavin will be 141lber for the Hawks and he's going to be awesome! I said it so you know it's true...also I have no insider information on this whatsoever:) Just hoping and praying.

Also, more importantly, I think TnT will need to continue to recruit Gavin for a couple years still...no doubt Cael will be lurking.

If Gavin goes to IndoChina, I want a Brands bro in a bowl of rice ready to pop out and remind him that he is an Iowa guy <grab crotch>

Inserted with some edits because the great Les Grossman never fails to be funny:

Tom Brands to such poachers: "First, take a big step back... and literally, F*** YOUR OWN FACE! I don't know what kind of pan-pacific bullshit power play you're trying to pull here, but Asia Jack is my territory. So whatever you're thinking, you'd better think again! Otherwise I'm gonna have to head down there and I will rain down an un-Godly f******** firestorm upon you! You're gonna have to call the f****** United Nations and get a f******* binding resolution to keep me from f****** destroying you. I'm talking scorched earth, motherf*****! I will massacre you! I WILL F*** YOU UP!"

You'd have a better chance of having 21 guns mom take the plastic cover off his mattress than Teasdale backing out of his commitment to Iowa.

LOL Picture miniature Brands brothers giving leg lace instructions from atop a pile of rice even while the poor kid eats.

Btw, they making "Indo," in China now?

I know nothing about which you speak. Seven months to go in the military, then maybe we can talk ;)

LOL I'd hope there would be some compassion for those with your condition, even in the military. But this is still a Fed institution, so there's that.

Heck, I'd come see you in AZ in seven months, but I ain't gotta passport.

I might be enticed to Iowa to catch a dual, but that's a long way from the free world.

el dub, signing off from the state of Jefferson. :)

I'm really excited about the future of Iowa wrestling, starting with 2016. With the recruits we've brought in; will bring in, and those we're in the hunt for ... these are just exciting times.

You have kids like Lee and Marinelli (spelling?) in the room ... That's huge. And Gavin is well on his way in making great contributions to the sport of wrestling.

This is a fun ride, my friends ... Go Hawks!

Listened to IAWrestle's podcast today...holy shit it causes some optimism. Lee already hanging with Gilman and Clark? If Dennis is taking him to Rio, then DD must think a whole hell of a lot of him because a medal is on the line. Unless Lee is self-funding and DD is taking multiple guys.
