General Booty???

Should anyone be concerned that he had no FBS offers out of high school, has no Div 1 college stats, and his greatest claim to fame is his last name's NIL value? Just looking for a reality check.

Love watching this board get hyped about a new transfer QB. Only Iowa and their fans could get hyped about a walk-on QB quarterback from a P5 team. But again, those lofty QB expectations tend to scare away most QB's 😅 Wonder what the excuse will be when you inevitably swing and miss on a below-average QB?
Love watching you post about this Iowa team, keep it up. Just watched the Sopranos, so GFY.

Well, right, we get that, but did you see the pic of his mom and sister?? That is worth a star right there. Players with the hottest moms and sisters get to start. I think the ncaa is working on codifying that. Plus I hear he has a cannon for an arm, so then by default he should be the starter, because we are now going to be throwing 60 yard bombs all over the place. Because it does not matter how accurate the throw is, it is only incomplete once someone on our team fails to catch it. It is all in the new program philosophy booklet that was sent out.

I missed this important piece of information. If you're going to reference a picture you need to post the picture.

Maybe there is some video of him being a pretty accurate passer with very good technique and maybe he has the size and some speed.

This is what I thought this thread was about

No offense, but video doesn't mean shit. If it did the last 5 Iowa recruits would have been Heisman winners according to a lot of the posters on here.

Did you intentionally leave out the
‘I watched his tape, he can make all the throws, looked great’?

Meet General Booty, a third-generation football standout with the greatest name in QB history - Sporting News

His name is General Axel Booty. Yes, General Booty. No, not a typo.

Booty is more than a name, though. He's a Division I quarterback prospect who'll first make his mark at Tyler Junior College, and he's the latest in a long line of football players in the Booty family. His uncle, John David Booty, gained notoriety as the starting quarterback for USC. Now it's General Booty, a high school senior in the class of 2021, looking to make his mark with more than just his name.

“Obviously my name’s an attention-grabber and people like to do headlines with it, but I like to show people with my play that I can back it up, too,” General told The Dallas Morning News. “I have done that, I’m going to continue to do that as well, and give them a reason to remember my name.”

Here's what you need to know about General Booty as he closes in on a possible Division I future.

1. Where'd 'General' come from?

Booty's father, Abram, had a fascination with the Army growing up, according to The Dallas Morning News. He made the decision mentally when he was younger that if he had a son one day, he'd name him General.

The plan was for Booty's parents to call him by his middle name, Axel. But they told The Dallas Morning News that when Booty was young, he only answered to "General," and so that's what stuck.

2. Booty football heritage

General Booty is a third-generation quarterback standout. First came his grandfather, Johnny, who was a top quarterback recruit in high school and played at both Arkansas and Mississippi State in college.

Johnny had four sons: Josh, Abram (General's father), John David (pictured below) and Jake. Josh was named a USA Today All-American in 1993 and was also a first-round MLB Draft pick. Abram played wide receiver at LSU and had a brief stint with the Browns in the NFL. John David won two Rose Bowls at USC, and Jake was an all-state quarterback in high school.

“When you think of Shreveport (Louisiana), and you mention athletics, the Booty name is the first name that comes to mind,” General's mom, Amy, told The Dallas Morning News.

3. General Booty spent time at four high schools

The Booty family has moved around in recent years, which has meant General has spent time at four different high schools — two in California and then one in San Antonio before coming to Allen, Texas, for his senior year.

Allen High School might sound familiar. It's one of the biggest and best football high schools in Texas, and it calls one Kyler Murray an alumnus.

4. General Booty can play

Through Dec. 16, Booty had thrown 27 touchdowns in his senior year for Allen. The 6-3 senior had garnered five scholarship offers from Division I schools: Liberty, Louisiana-Monroe, McNeese State, Nicholls State and Yale.

Booty came through earlier this season with a touchdown pass with six seconds remaining to extend Allen's current winning streak to 83 games. You can see some of his highlights below (just don't search for his highlights on Twitter with "General Booty" as the term, because the site won't display any photos or videos):
Booty announced his signing with Tyler Junior College on Feb. 3, at least putting a Division I future on hold. But based on his play at Allen and the interest of Division I programs, he'll surely get to keep making a name for himself moving forward.

I wanna hear a booty song

Look at that booty, show me the booty
Give me the booty, I want the the booty
Back up the booty, I need the booty
I like the booty, Lord what a booty

Shaking that booty, I saw the booty
I like the booty, Lord what a booty
Bring on the booty, give up the booty
Loving the booty, round booty

Down for the booty, I want the booty
Hunting the booty, chasing the booty
Casing the booty, getting the booty
Beautiful booty, smoking booty
Talk to the booty, more booty
Fine booty
