Get On The Murray Train!

But we need patty Mac in for his sick handles bud ;)
PMac thinks he has them but as we saw yesterday, his dribbling between the legs into double teams led to two turnovers and one run out dunk. You’d think someone would tell him to stop trying to dribble drive into the lane to be doubled up. It’s like he is following the ball instead of directing the ball where he wants to go, not the ball leading the way.

I absolutely love the Murray twins. They are great athletes, great ball players and great teammates. We are blessed to have them at Iowa. Thank you Kenyon and Michelle!

But we also need to develop the rest of our depth for the tournament. We are doing this and players are accepting their roles, expanding their skills and building their confidence.

For Iowa to advance we do need our best 6 or 7 to to be fresh and available down the stretch. That means having them out of foul trouble as well as having enough energy to compete to the end. That happened yesterday at OSU. The Bucks fought furiously in the final minutes, but Iowa was the fresher squad with our better players in at the end and OSU ran out of steam.

Our bench helped build the lead and our best players finished down the stretch. It was a total team effort and how we will need to play during tournament time.

Got to give the coaching staff some credit for how they managed yesterday.

We will need a solid 9 or 10 players to have success in the post-season.

Lol, not many of us will get that reference. I think he’s much more talented and agile than that. He plays a bit like Al Lorenzen back in the day, without the muscle.
Lol, you're old too.
Small Al is a better comp. but he was a better shooter.
I like Rebraca, he's a solid backup.

And their hops are ridiculous in a sneaky way as well. Effortless ups.
They really are. Keegan gets an offensive rebound and if he's close to the rim and has any room it's right back up with a dunk. No problem. You don't teach that kind of thing, that's for certain. Very impressive.

It should be Kris, Keegan, and Rebreca instead of PMac. PMac can’t defend, rebound, or create his own shot like Keegan and Kris can. PMac needs to come off the bench to give either twin a break then Philip needs to get a break from Josh. Josh is playing well and should be rewarded for it.
Some of us have been positing this since November
you couldn’t be more correct on both your points;

-Start Kris over PMac
-PMac to sub for Murray’s
-Ogundele to back up Rebraca

It was 51-49 with 12:44 left

Murray's scored 15 of the next 17 to make it 68-55

And OSU was out of timeouts w/6:39 left.
A heck of a second half, and it was a great W, but they're not that good.

Their guards are not good and it seems like they lost their first NCAA game last year? And they're not going far this year either.

I think it’s close. Ivey is explosive but not as consistent or complete. Davis from Wisconsin has been pretty damn good, especially in big games. Good to see Keegan show big in a big game. I think he’s got a shot depending on how the season finishes.
Davis is not as efficient as Keegan.

POY is partially a team success award. Davis will probably win it. Keegan, being practically the sole concern of every opposing coach, and still being the league's top scorer, probably deserves it.
