Tried calling IA ticket office, can't get through. Website d/n work to get on waiting list. Ticketmaster released tickets today at 10am on ticketmaster site. Sold out by 10:03. Lowest price anywhere else? $700-1000/ticket. Who in there right mind pays that much to watch a damb game? I know I can't afford it. Looks like most of us that aren't rich are screwed. No other bowl game is priced this high!

Ticketmaster sold out long before 10:03. I was "in" at 10:00 and 1 second. Waited while it "searched for best available" (thought for sure I was going to get 2), only to come up empty.

I hear ya bro. The only other bowl game I've been to was the 2003 Orange, because my son was in the band and we wanted to see him. Decided to go to this one because I've always wanted to see Iowa play in the Rose Bowl and this may never happen again in my lifetime. I don't have anywhere near the estimated 155 priority points it will take to get the tickets I requested thru the University, so it looks like I am out of luck.

Yep. Ticketmaster was "sold out," by 10:02. Disappointing!

I was refreshing ticketmaster starting at 958, Im not sure how many they actually released, not many.

Mine is still searching sine 10:00... I don't know why I'm still holding out a sliver of hope...

I went with a package Sunday through Esoteric Sports. Got tickets on the 30 yard line. Seems many tickets are now given to sports package companies like this one making it even harder to just buy tickets and do your own thing. Since we wanted all the stuff that came in the package it worked for us but I know for many this is not the best option.

Packages are nice. You are going to have a great time!

A package doesn't work for me unfortunately. Besides being too much $$ for me right now, I am limited in my travel time. I cannot get the 31st off from work. No way, no how. Already tried. So I would have to take a late flight out of Des Moines. There is exactly one. Even if I manage to get lucky thru the university, I have no doubt the late flight will be fully booked by the 14th.

Hope you actually end up with tickets. Some of these organizations are just promising tickets and plan to get them later. (Hoping to buy them inexpensively closer to gsme)

Good luck

Happy for the people who landed tickets. Me? I won't be making this journey. Went to the Orange Bowls in 02 and 10 ... Had an amazing time. Rose Bowl has always been on my bucket list. Been a diehard for 35+ years and always wanted to go to the Granddaddy ... After looking at ticket prices, etc., I just can't justify spending that type of money ... That's more on me because that's my makeup. I just can't give $1,400 or so for a ticket to see a football game (lifetime memory or not) plus air/hotel ... Sadly, it's a business now and the vultures are staking their claim.

Anywho, I am envious of the people going and hope everyone has a kick&*& time. Go Hawks!

Here's a tip that worked when MSU went to the Rose Bowl a few years ago. As an MSU fan, I made a deposit on Standford seasons tickets, which of course I never purchased. I lost my deposit, but that gave me access to purchasing tickets to the game directly from Standford. Not sure if you can pull this off anymore or if they closed that loophole.

Those saying Stanford wont find any luck. Stanford has their stuff in order and have already said they wont have any extra tickets and all 27,000 will go out to season ticket holders. The guy I talked to did say that it seems every year the colleges get less and less tickets and the promoters more and more.

No source just look at what has been going on. You have thousands of hawkeye fans who are hoping to get tickets from Iowa that dont have a shot. Many of these people have booked flights and hotels. Good chance that airlines are only going to go up, same with hotels in another week. Ticket companies know they have many Iowa fans by the balls right now. Plus there are still plenty of people buying the cheapest ones at $600. When they drop it will be the next tier and I doubt you will see anything drop lower then $500. There will be a lot of people kicking themselves for balking when they went up to only $350.

I have flight and hotel booked but I'm not paying $600 for tickets. I don't have enough priority points to even try applying for tickets from the University. I have a bunch of friends going that also don't have tickets. If we don't get them, we'll probably be watching the game from a bar in Pasadena. That's not ideal, but I've had worst New Years' before.

I've got a lot of friends that would have payed $350-$400 if they knew they didnt have a shot with their 80 to 100 pts at getting them from Iowa.

It appears to me that people bought plane tickets in Iowa to Vegas or Phoenix without even knowing if they got game tickets or not.

On the flip side, I'm sure many Hawk fans bought game tickets and don't yet have their travel plans fully sorted out.

It is a mad scramble for both airfares and game tickets, although probably more so for reasonable game tickets.

I'm lucky that I booked my airfare already and have a ticket through the university's allotment.

I hate to say it, but this whole thing sounds like a ticketing nightmare. Folks be careful where youre buying these tickets and packages.

Was ready at 9:00 am on the dot Phoenix time. At 9:01, say goodnight. Didn't have a chance. Not cool. Working other angles right now. Hotel, done. Five hour car drive, no problem. Just need the damn tickets.

Stanford closed this loophole. It was a stupid decision by the Athletics Department to sell more season tickets the next year and meant that a lot of Stanford alumni couldn't get tickets. I would be pretty surprised if Stanford doesn't sell its allotment to season ticket holders, and then alumni, but it can't hurt to check in with Stanford after the window for season ticket holders to buy tickets has passed.

Good luck getting tickets. I'm sure Iowa will have a great representation at the game.

I was on ticketmaster right at 10am central and no dice. Did anyone get ticketmaster tickets? cause Im starting to think they maybe didnt have any of maybe just a 100 or so. If thats the case thats complete BULL. I like other have my hotel and flight but no tickets

I considered purchasing standing room only tickets (11:00 am AZ time) but decided against it. Did anyone purchase them?

All I see here is a lot of conjecture, no facts

All I see online are $550+ tickets that aren't moving. Prices will drop on tickets, demand isn't going up - only down now that flights are ridiculous

Where did this 155 priority point estimate come from?

I hoping there are people that will end up getting tickets and then find out that airfare and lodging are outrageous and decide to sell at a reasonable price.

I was also on at exactly 10. What probably happened, is ticket brokers had dozens of people on the phone and Internet, and they scooped up as many as they could. I doubt few....if any...fans were able to get any.
