Is Glossner at 141? Someone said he was mentioned as a contender there in HTD today. Gotta figure he will be a factor for the starting lineup if the weight suits him.

If he's not, I am. Absolutely love what Phil brings to the room but he is far from a team point getter.... JMHIO
How's Turk looking in the room? Saw Izzy Martinez was in the room yesterday and said he was excited about him this year. Hoping for some fantastic news in the coming weeks!!! Do you know if the starters are going to GV or Luther?

GV was originally listed on Iowa's schedule but it was removed.

Correct. Iowa still planning on sending redshirts to GV I believe. ISU redshirts should be at the GV open and it sounds like UNI is sending their whole squad there.

Iowa added the Luther Open to their schedule a few weeks back.

Iowa has their preseason media day this week so we should hopefully get some more answers this week.

Starters were heading to Luther as of a few days ago. My Eddyville source says Glosser could make 141 but did not think he would attempt it for a whole season. Glosser is bigger than Turk.

I have to agree. Good kid by all accounts but not a high level D1 quality wrestler.
What separates Glosser from Laux in this regard? I'm glad young Mr. Glosser is on board, but his resume in comparison to Laux, Turk and Carton coming in is not on the same level (I understand he could improve, but that's a big leap in a short amount of time). I find it hard to believe he'd be a factor at 141 at this early stage in his career. And that's not even mentioning Happel.

I know you don't believe in such things but he took fifth at junior nationals, beat Wyatt Sheets (3X Okie State Champ), Barone Illinois State Champ (both free and folk) and hung with Tristan Moran, losing by two points. All have a much better high school resumes than Jeren. He beat Sheets up at 70KG so I don't know if 41 is realistic or not.

Of course he did. Ha! Thanks for the info Chief.

The funny part about that is, as I was typing up the previous post, I was going to put a "disclaimer" in there something along the line of "let me guess, he beat somebody in a Freestyle event somewhere", and sure enough.....................:D

Needless to say it's going to take a bit more than that for me, and I would hope for everybody.

I wish him well as I do ALL the Hawk Wrestlers. I hope to see whomever can rise to the occasion in the lineup some day if they prove worthy (tough road around his weight). I'm skeptical that is going to happen in his RS Freshman season however.

If he's somehow found his inner Metcalf during his time in Iowa City, then, by all means......

This is a fair question and the answer is probably not a lot. However, he would be much bigger than Laux at 141.

Well that's for sure. Laux is scrappy at 125, but he's on the short side of the horsepower department after that.

Could Glosser be the next great Brody Grothus? I'm getting excited thinking a bout another 20 page thread.
as SCARY as this sounds...I was thinking THE EXACT SAME THOUGHT.... getting ready to yell HERE WE GO AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm told it's BAU for Vince in the room... Looking tough as hell and only goes in high gear. He definitely added some bulk also. It's no secret that he needs to keep improving in the bottom position too. I'm holding firm on him being the man at '41.

I know he wrestled 49 at Luther, but now with Turk out does he go down to try to get the spot from Carton?
