Not a big fan of Kirk the Football Coach, but I must give credit where it is due. We have finally found a way to beat Iowa State and Minnesota 4 times in a row.

When you're the better program with the highly paid Coach, these things should happen. Not gonna win all of them, but this is something to hang your hat on. Well done.

Pretty happy with the overall game plan and execution yesterday. Good start to the road schedule. Hoping for 6 to 8 more wins this year. Kirk at 152 wins or more at the end of the seas sounds good.

Agree with the beating Minn, ISU, & Neb. It’s nice to hold all of those trophies every year. But we’re a way better program than all 3 of them.

Now if we can just find a way to beat Wis.

I’m sure the future Hall of Fame coach is devastated to hear that.
And yet every sports page in the land has said for years it's at the top of the worst contracts in the country for this "Hall of Fame" Coach (and many times the 1st one mentioned). He's a fortunate man, that's for certain.

EVERY one? Since we’re spouting out things that simply aren’t true i’ll say this. Every sports page in the country lists him in their top 10 all time coaches!

I think now it's 'worst' more for the buyout and bonus structure than the salary.

His yearly salary is about middle of the pack in the B1G so by your thinking those programs should all find a way to beat Iowa 4 times in a row with their “highly paid coach”

Actually he needs to raise his winning % to 60% to get into the Hall. It is a newer guideline so please don't do the 'Fry and 27 other coaches' bit.
I understand the 60% criteria. I highly doubt his 3 year stint at Maine (which accounts almost 20% of his total losses) keeps him from the HoF.

Land more WRs like David Bell in recruiting process. Then ulitize their talents.

I know, easier said than done.

You’ve hit the nail on the head! If only ISU/MN figured out the solution you suggest, pay their coaches more than KF and they’ll be able to beat him!

How is it worse than schools paying 3 coaches at the same time!!!

Kirk's salary is not out of line given the stability, graduation rates and general lack of scandal over 20 years. Not many schools can say that. The buyout provision is horrific and is on Barta. Kirk has an awesome agent.
