Really didn't know what to expect from you guys in the B1G game, but I came away extremely impressed and had you won, I wouldn't have cried sour grapes one bit. Appreciate the support I see from many of you in our game against Alabama. Hope you stick it to Stanford and win a very big Rose Bowl. Always historic when you play in that game.

Thanks for the good wishes. I'm also hoping that Sparty wins tonight and on the 11th too to honor my Mom, who just joined my Dad in heaven in between the Nebraska game and the B1G championship game and is probably rooting with my former MSU professor father in rooting for the Spartans to win thursday night up there, since they both worked there during my high school years when I went to Spartan games in those days, including the one where MSU beat the Buckeyes by the same score 16-13 in the 70's that they beat Iowa by in the championship game. I'm still wondering if Archie Griffin was remembering that game too when his last second touchdown attempt wasn't counted then when we cheered the Spartans winning then when he was giving Cook the trophy then.

I'm also liked to think that both Mom (who was a native Iowan and said she was going to root for Iowa to win out when we watched the Nebraska game together) and Dad will also root for the Hawks to win the next day too.

It's kind of interesting to me that the last time Iowa won a Rose Bowl was beating Cal in 1958 (which is almost exactly half-way between the beginning of the last century and now, and coincidentally also the year I was born then too.

Go Spartans thursday night! (except in BB tonight! :) )

Please beat Bama to shut up their delusional fans. I live in LA (Lower Alabama) actually the Florida panhandle and its probably 70% Bama fans. I'm sick of hearing roll tide every chance they get to say it.

I would like it if the hawks could say their only loss this year was to the national champs. By 3.

It would be interesting to see how the final rankings would be then too, with the only teams with potentially only 1 loss if MSU were to win it all would be:

MSU (champion) 14-1
Clemson 13-1 or 14-1
Iowa 13-1 (winning Rose Bowl)
Ohio State 12-1 (winning Fiesta Bowl)

Big Ten with three of the top four teams in the rankings maybe? I guess we shouldn't count the chickens too soon though. Games still need to be played. And both Iowa and Ohio State would have their one loss to #1 MSU, and arguably MSU's one loss perhaps shouldn't have been if the officials hadn't blown that call against Nebraska too.

The bad call at Nebraska is evened out by the once in a generation collapse Michigan had earlier in the year. Not that any of that changes where MSU should end up if they win the rest of their games.

My hope is that MSU wins convincingly in both games. While I agree that the above would be the order (and deserves to be) in my mind the National Championship game would have taken place on December 6.
