I had to cut and paste this from themat.com forum! What a mess!

third dose increases the immunity, so after the fourth dose you are protected. Once 80% of the population has received the fifth dose, the restrictions can be relaxed as the sixth dose stops the virus from spreading. I am calm and believe the seventh dose will solve our problems and we have no reason to fear the eighth dose. The clinical phase of the ninth dose confirms that the antibodies remain stable after the tenth dose. The eleventh dose guarantees that no new mutations will develop so there is no longer any reason to fear the twelfth dose.
Hahaha. So if we need to wait 6 months between each booster shot we should have this sucker beat in as little as 6 years. I for one am happy that we shouldn’t need to fear the 12th dose!!! I’m fine with 11 but 12 is a step to far.

Yes that was sarcasm. My god people have gone round the bin on this damn thing!

Those trends are always trending for sure...

More overreaction. Complete BS.
Feels like BS.

I don’t know why the decision was made. Maybe it was the right decision with the right people involved. Feelin for the wrestlers missing a marquee event.

We’re on the original vaccine plus a booster. Calm down, Karen. ;)

Try living in Illinois with the fat little hobbit as governor and the love child of beetle juice and Harry Belafonte as mayor of Chicago.

To paraphrase the former Mayor D___; "the Mayor is not here to create disorder, the Mayor is here to preserve disorder"! You old guys remember.

The Twelve Doses of Christmas 🎄⛄❄️🎄

The vaccines have been around and widely available long enough. Whoever is going to get it has gotten it, and whoever isn’t, hasn’t. Time to open everything up.
more importantly, time to stop hoarding them here and let the poorer countries who want them have them. that’s where these variants are coming from. until we understand that borders don’t exist to viruses, we’re going to keep having new variants and this will keep going.

You guys are funny.

Have ya’ll picked the outfit you’re wearing to the next coup attempt yet?
These people need to get a grip. Now, as opposed to last year’s lockdowns, I think this is overboard based on the public health data about Omicron here and in South Africa. Much milder, with vaccines widely available. However, people are still on the rag today, even with the good news of the Hawkeye Open. Hope we get the B1G teams + SDSU at the very least.

I know Ohio just reported the highest single day number of new cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

They are not the only state where numbers right now are higher than they’ve ever been.

i’m a crown seems to spread much easier than previous versions… But the good news is the symptoms seem to be more mild. So maybe that will help keep things open.
That is the important thing. What are the results of getting this variant of the cold virus? Cold viruses in the past have not been of huge concern, but since this one has the covid name attached to it, people just want to freak out.

I am guessing it will depend to some extent on which state it is in. I worry about the NCAA tourney since it is in Michigan.
Other than me wanting to have wrestling and wanting to go, I'm not at risk of being out anything.

Tickets will obviously be refunded and I'm not dumb enough to book a non-refundable hotel room in the age of 'Rona.

I'd imagine they'll still have the tourneys since they did last year, but I'm guessing that the days of actually being able to attend a wrestling meet are numbered. And running out fast.

Omicron is 70% less likely to lead to hospitalization, but is orders of magnitude more contagious (spreads MUCH faster).

Faster, more pervasive spread + far less dangerous effects = a good thing.

Estimates are that almost everyone in the USA is going to get this thing within a few months because of how contagious it is, but not anywhere near as many people will get seriously sick. It will speed herd immunity and lead to winding down of the pandemic. Which happened with other pandemics. I'm vaccinated and boosted (don't give a shit if anyone lese is...live your life), so if I get the 'rona it ain't gonna be serious. Bring it. The faster I get more antibodies and the faster this thing peters out the better for all of us. .003% odds of getting seriously sick and even smaller odds of dying? Whatevs.

With Omicron becoming dominant, hospitals are not going to be overwhelmed like they have been in the past. Stop swallowing the fear that the media is trying to force down your throats.

Do the math. Consider one variant, let’s call it A, in which each person infects two others on average, and which causes serious illness in 1% of cases. After ten iterations (2^10) of transmission, you’ll have about 1,000 cases, and 10 instances of serious illness. Now consider variant B, which is twice as infectious, so each person infects four others on average, but which causes serious illness only one-tenth as often, i.e., in only 0.1% of cases. Unchecked, over the same ten iterations (4^10) of transmission, with variant B you’ll have more than a million cases, and about 1,000 individuals with serious illness.

That's not "media fear," that's simple math.
