If there is one tiny silver lining, there does seem to be some anger brewing. I was talking to a couple of moms at the gym yesterday, and they are Republican. Both voted for Reynolds, and they are both pissed about the voucher program, teacher shortages with no real plan to address it, and declining test scores.
I have said this before, you can criticize things about education in general, but people like their schools, and their teachers for the most part.

Why are you a registered Republican? I am a conservative and believe in a small less obtrusive government. I believe in actual free speech and the ability to succeed to my ability as well as fail.
I do not believe in equal outcomes nor do I believe that there are people who need or should get special treatment or that somebody can't succeed. As MLK Jr said, judge one by the content of ones character and not the color of one's skin. Many on this board feel more comfortable with the teachings of Karl Marx than John Stuart Mill or Thomas Jefferson.

I am a registered Republican because my values and beliefs (used to) align with theirs, and still do on some very fleeting occasions.
For example, I believe in a smaller less obtrusive government too. However our Governor is doing everything she can to dig her fingers into every single issue, and make laws and decisions based on blind partisan politics. That isn’t a good representative. That isn’t small government. Her behavior is the opposite of being less obtrusive.
Iowa Rs are all about intrusion these days, abs. Not sure why you ignore that.
You say that Republicans are passing laws against CRT, trans activity, etc and say, whatever happened to the Republican's small government stance. But you refuse to even acknowledge the reason the Republicans are passing these laws. Our country is over 250 years old and we have never had public schools attempting to force men onto women's sports teams or saying white people oppress blacks simply due to the fact that whites have less melanin in their skin. So until recently, no one even dreamed that taking a stance against men in girls locker rooms would ever be necessary. (I sometime still think this is someone's sick idea of a joke) So long story short, look in the mirror. You want less government in your life, stopping pushing your radical agenda on the rest of us.
