Grassley Opposes Bipartisan Tax Bill That “Makes Biden Look Good”

Grassley’s FULL quote is: ““Passing a tax bill that makes the president look good — mailing out checks before the election — means he could be re-elected, and then we won’t extend the 2017 tax cuts,”

So he is against the tax bill because it increases the chances (he believes) of losing the 2017 tax cuts.

Some serious mental gymnastics required to keep up with Chuck!

Honest like when appearing before a national television audience he speculated that an IRS “strike force” would show up at small businesses “ready to shoot” if Biden’s legislation to expand funding for the IRS passed?

Yes actually,.. In reference to that comment, the IRS staffers in question were authorized to carry firearms.

The ones hired as special agents in the criminal investigation division would be authorized...as they ALWAYS have been. It's been around for over 100 years. Guess what??? The Dept of Agriculture also buys weapons and ammo for its people!!!! They coming to gun down farmers!!!!

Grassley’s words are misrepresented here.
"I am going to vote against anything that is good for America because it will make Biden look good and reduce Trump's election chances which would then decrease the chances of me getting what I want in the future."

No misrepresentation... You're just looking for a nuance that ends up not being nuanced.

Grassley specifically mentioned that this special strike force would be armed with "AK-15s",an assault rifle. The legisltion did not identify or otherwise authorize a "strike force" - that was invented by Grassley, and certain field officers have been carrying small arms for a long time. His comments were patently dishonest, a complete fabrication designed to arouse irratonal fear in order to generate opposition. You apparently fell for it.

Now I know why we so rarely hear from him these days-whose turn was it to watch him anyway?

Yes. They are IRS-CI agents. They are armed because they are criminal investigators. They investigate crimes such as money laundering that often involve violent criminals. This has always been the case. You a such a fool

Grassley is no doubt old as shit, but he is a fair, honest and diligent Senator,.. Piss off OP.
Honest like when he privately admits he has squat on Joe Biden, but then mumbles out words on Fox about how HuNTeR and JoE are in the pocket of BuRIsMA?

That is a misrepresentation of Grassley’s stated “why”.

no it isn’t. let me state it in a way grassley would understand. you can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig. his final half sentence is the lipstick on a pig.

also, you know why they put provisions like that in place? so they can use them as a campaign point later. “elect us or else” is basically what they are saying. america first my asse

Yes, in this Grassley case, at least.

He must think the bad is bigger than the good.
LOL at your attempt to spin this. Yes, he thinks the "bad" is bigger than the good. The "bad" being Biden getting credit for the good.

You're such a shill.

2017 Tax cuts for individuals expire next year, corporations get a nice permanent one. Stop being disingenuous:
I’m not being disingenuous.

I’m not approving of Grassley’s vote against this bill.

I’m only pointing out that, his full quote does not say he’s voting against the bill simply to keep Biden from winning in November. It says he’s voting against the bill because, if Biden wins, the 2017 tax cuts will be killed. Maybe he’s even wrong about that.

But the OP omitted Grassley’s STATED reason for voting against the bill, so as to make it seem that Grassley would oppose anything to not help Biden get re-elected. Maybe he would, but we don’t know that from this case.

This may be true. But it was spin for the OP to omit that last sentance.

Because now, voters can decide if someone is too old/senile.

With term limits/age limits, an elected official can’t even run at some point.
There are restrictions to run for all different government offices. I guess 16 year olds should be able to run for Congress then.

Grassley is full MAGAt. All he cares about is going down on Trump. Congrats, Senator. You destroyed whatever rep you spent decades building up.

You're embarrassing yourself with this stuff.

Just chiming in to say that Grassley is older than the recipe for chocolate chip cookies.

That fact will never not be funny to me.
