Great game Hawks

I have to admit, Fran gets the most out of the athletes that he recruits. Iowa had no business making that a game. ISU has better athletes across the board but Iowa made it a tough game. His brand of basketball always puts points on the board.

Hope Iowa can make a splash in the Big10.

Points on the board but can't rebound... ever.

I think most of us were happy with the effort and defense for the most part. Got caught too high/ flat-footed in man to man late in the game. Help defense is optional at times.

Just bummed we led so long and couldn't win.

Good game.

Iowa State is very good.

Big, strong, athletic. They are very good on both ends of the floor. They are going to be tough to beat.

This is a good Hawkeye team,.. It's a long season, they play with a lot of heart, and their effort is going to be rewarded...

That being the case, what does that say about Iowa controlling the game for 37 minutes? And one clearly wrong out of bounds call cost Iowa dearly, not to mention the obvious double dribble by ISU at midcourt that not one of three officials could see.

Despite being outrebounded badly, Iowa--despite a few obvious exceptions--played tough, hard defense and put the ball in the basket. The energy and effort were there, and so were the skills, until the final 2.5 minutes. So if ISU is #3, Iowa must be top ten.

I’d say top 25 yes, ISU was on the road and found a way to win against a good team imo. Hawks still need to learn to finish!!!!!

The missed over-and-back was also huge. ISU made a transition 3 after it. My son, who's not an Iowa fan, commented that Iowa got screwed on a few calls, and seemed to get no home cookin. That doesn't excuse getting pounded on the boards.
