Griffin Liddle on medical scholarship

Just got an email from Iowa that Griffin Liddle is taking a medical scholarship. He's ineligible to compete at Iowa, but in return he can keep his scholarship without it counting against the 85. Updated depth chart is here.

Ferentz had been asked about it at yesterday's presser.

He was a DL out of Bettendorf who had been switched to the OL.

Probably a few more med. hardships coming by the end of the semester. Still have to get to 85 and include probably a couple of portal additions something has to give. Myslinski?, Bowie? Montgomery? Van Kekerix?, other? Guys we have heard about having trouble with injuries and staying healthy.

Myslinski was a great recruit that I thought would be the eventual center. The guy can't stay healthy. It is disappointing for him and the team.

I wouldn't be surprised if Myslinski and Bowie retired, but I doubt Montgomery would since he played 11 games on ST last year, including the last 10 games. Van Kekerix has yet to play at Iowa and has been battling injuries since high school. He doesn't have a clear path to playing time. Wouldn't be surprised if he transferred out or took a medical retirement.
