The play by Uhlis, Perkins, and Bowen the last couple minutes of first half and balance of game was disturbing. A bunch of chickens running around with their heads cutoff . Couldn’t finish at rim, throwing the ball away., Dribbling into a mess and just throwing up trash to the bucket. Give Fran credit for putting Tony at point (keeping his defense)and restricting him some. Don’t see a lot of wins left for this team unless Kris goes off and they play some defense. Next year looks like a disaster without Kris , Rebraca and Conner.

If this team is going to get some more quality wins Perkins has to play like he did last year. Missing way too many drives and jump shots in the lane. He was a lot more efficient last year shooting wise once he was inserted into starting lineup.

I presume that you were ecstatic when Fran recruited the Murray twins. I had questions, but I trusted Fran's judgment. I am not second-guessing his judgment on the four recruits arriving next year.
Did you think Garza was going to be 1st team AA before his junior year? Big Ten MVP? I doubt it.
Did you predict stardom for the otherwise unrecruited Murrays?
We could go back even further. The sky has not even fallen on this season and you're predicting worse times ahead. With the portal who knows what else we can buy in the next off season.
The OP is right - guard play has been very poor, not just against Indiana but in all the B1G games. Surprised and disappointed in Ulis and Perkins so far. I hope Fran gives Dix some more minutes to see if he can do better.
Our guards seem to want to win the game by themselves and as posted in this thread running around like chickens, falling down, dribbling into traffic and losing the ball. trying to do too much single handedly or being the glory guy when they're needed to distribute the ball to the open player. If the lane is open for the drive, then take it. If the open shot is there for them then take it. But don't dribble around out of control and lose the ball in the process.

This has been the problem with Fran, he can’t recruit a PG that can do all 3 requirements of a PG: Dribble, shoot and defend. You want to know why we haven’t made a sweet sixteen? Guard play!
Look at all the teams who have made the sweet sixteen, they have good to great guard play. Even the smaller schools! Fran needs to move on, he has taken us out of the abyss of the lickliter years, but he will never get us to the next level!

I agree. Seems like all the stuff that got JoeT in the dog house being out of control and turnovers perkins has done more of the same this year. Way too much dribbling with it going no where. One thing I’m disappointed most about ulis is I thought he’d be more effective driving to the basket this year. Even for his style fran values a pg who takes care of the ball and for all he couldn’t do athletically as a Pg jbo was very good at that.
Bowen is going to be good. Just a little out of control as a freshman. That will be a problem if this is like Joey T and he's still out of control two years from now.
