But the SEC rarely plays at an out of conference opponents field.
The SEC mastered scheduling long ago.
1. Play meaningful conference home games right away. This allows you to climb the poles after a loss. This also minimizes the chance of playing a mac level school that may catch you off guard after a full summer to prepare and watch film.
2. pepper in patsies and byes at the end of the season to get healthy. The patsies never really have a chance to prepare for you in season
3. play 8 games.
The $EC has it figured out and then will complain when a team (quality team) doesn't have their schedule pan out like they thought it would.
