Hands up don't shoot did happen but not in Ferguson

Here's an interesting tidbit of fact, I can reduce you and iowahawk to cursing, name calling and typing in all caps normally within a post or two.

I know exactly what it takes to spaz you two out.

Carry on lemmings carry on.

I would love, love, to see you point out any post where you have "reduced" me to this.

Edited to realize that you think "caricature" was name calling.

What you and Arbit8 and too many others seem to forget is that there are bad people out there. That's why we like having cops. BUT THE COPS AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THE BAD PEOPLE.

Why should we get more than ordinarily upset when anonymous people do bad things? It's bad. It's a crime and most of the time nobody is saying otherwise. On the other hand, why WOULDN'T we get upset when the people who are supposed to be protecting all of us end up killing or abusing some of us in circumstances that don't seem to justify it?

It's not only contrary to what the cops are supposed to do but any time it happens should be a shock.

As usual, you're misreading the situation. You should be asking yourself if any accomplished people on this board take YOU seriously.
Actually, I respect quite a few posters here and I have reason to think the feeling is mutual - including some I don't agree with all that much.

I don't know which former poster you were (or are, as the case may be) but it's a pretty good bet you don't rise to that level.

Maybe what you are missing is the cops that are being scrutinized are the ones doing their jobs - just wait for the Gray information to be suppressed by Mobsy (?). The coroners report, the fact he had an illegal knife on his person, drugs, etc, etc. Will be interesting to see how the crowds react if the 6 LEO are found not guilty... I wonder if the Mayor will give another order to "stand down and let them loot"?

It appears WWJD has already taken the "guilty" side.

Apparently this is a difficult concept for some. Let me see if I can dumb it down some more.

Bad guys are bad guys. Cops are supposed to protect us from bad guys. Cops aren't supposed to act like bad guys.

If a stranger robs you of your money that's bad. He's a bad guy. He belongs in jail. If your accountant robs you of your money, that's even worse because while you have only ordinary expectations of a stranger, you feel you have a right to expect more from your accountant.

So . . . how did the knife or drugs factor into this? Do they justify what happened? Please explain.

Let's get back on track and discuss the execution of the guy walking his dog at the hands of the two mental midgets with the stupid look on their faces.

You seem to be going in circles on this. You believe the LEOs were "doing their jobs" and did nothing illegal. Sure, fine, but posting it over and over doesn't change the case.

If it was, in fact, illegal, then it wasn't "doing their jobs", it was violating the law.

Certainly you agree that an officer illegally detaining someone, and that someone dies, should be held accountable, right?

It appears you have already taken the innocent side. What was the point of making that statement?
