Happy Blazing Saddles 50th

I find the "could never be made today" thing to be really stupid. It's already been made and is widely available, why would it need to be made again?

Where I argue it can’t be made today is simply that what qualifies as comedy has changed. There’s a lot of jokes/references that wouldn’t land as written simply because times have changed.

I would like to see a remake only for the cultural uproar it would cause. Nothing could ever top the original but the discourse would be outstanding

Would today’s “public” tolerate the language and nuances of “Blazing Saddles”? I seriously doubt it. Not in today’s world of “political correctness”?
Would “ play some if that good ol’ ni—er work music” be included today? Doubtful…

I agree actually that I think more cons would be upset by the movies portrayal of white people as morons.
