Hey all.

Trying to decide whether or not to park over by the mall and ride the train to Kinnick, or just find a spot as close to the stadium as I can and tailgate this weekend. I have never been on the train before, is it worth it?

Thanks,

We did it once and it was fine. There are usually 4 of us,however, and when you factor in the cost of a train ticket for each of us, it costs about the same to park in the Koser neighborhood, which has a lot more atmosphere.

Anyone know what the deal was last week? Ive never rode the train, but the line after the game was all the way back to Stellas on Melrose. Ive never seen the line like that

Thats kind of what I was thinking.

Same thing for me. My son and I walked it back to the lot because the train line after the game wrapped back to Melrose over the bridge. Never seen it that long before.

The train holds a massive number of people. A "long" line may not be a multi-train wait.

Train isn't cost effective unless you are by yourself. Even with 2 people you can park on university lots for $20. Even if you are by yourself depending when you arrive parking downtown could be cheaper.

My experience with the train is the wait to get on to head toward Kinnick is normally not bad. The wait to get on the return train can take a long time. For the cost and the wait, I no longer take the train.

Train has always been great for me except for 2 occassions. Once a drunken fool thought it would be funny to drop a gas bomb that waffted throughout the cabin. And another time my group pissed around and we got stuck in a mile long line to leave.

I agree with many of the comments here. Worst part of it is the line going back. However my kids love it and ride free so we do it once a year

I'm glad I did it once. I never need to do it again. It took over an hour to get out of the lot we were in south of the tracks. Make sure to park north of you want to get out quickly.

Is there only one way from the train to the stadium? Up that long, steep set of stairs? Or is there another place for fans with ambulatory challenges?

For a couple it's $24 unless it went up. Did it once won't do it again. It's a twenty minute round trip. I've waited an hour in line for my turn. Close games that the crowd stays to the end the line is really long. If line cutters bother you there's plenty of those too.

I've ridden the train a few times because the kids wanted to, though I would rather park closer to Kinnick to soak up the atmosphere. Kids ride for free until they are 12.

I think the reason that the line was so long last week was because of the construction on Dubuque Street. It sounds like Hancher is going to be difficult to get to for out of towners, and people are encouraged to find an alternate route. Seems like most people just decided to take the train instead.

My dad and I take it every single game.

It's easy, and I we like it.

No traffic headaches whatsoever.
