One of the greatest moments I've seen in watching Hawkeye basketball for decades came during a timeout last night when senior manager Jack Devlin hit that half-court shot. The Hawkeyes, to a man, rushed the court and celebrated like they had just won the national title. I mean it was an unscripted moment of pure joy, scenes that are becoming more and more rare. So congrats to Jack and to his brothers in black and gold. What a thrill that must have been at Carver because it was awesome 2,000 miles away.

BTW: Austin Ash doing his best Caitlin Clark impression was another highlight. The Iowa crowd's reaction was fabulous. Another awesome moment.

Awesome...great moment for that young man, really neat to see. He'll be talking about that "shot" all the rest of his life. Congrats! It was also cool to see his teammates and friends enjoy the moment with him.

Love it! Does anyone know what circumstances led him to taking that shot? Was everyone just jacking up threes during a TV timeout?

Wow I watched the game yet somehow missed that moment. Very cool.

Fran deserves a ton of credit for giving this kid a chance to be a part of this team over the last several years.

And the way the team has embraced Jack, not just last night, but over the last 3 years, has been incredible.

We should all be proud of our coaching staff and the players for stuff like this.

If Tony would’ve hit that windmill dunk, my face would have melted off.
It was worth it even though it didn't go in. It was just awesome. Another in the lineup of special, exciting moments on that night. Tony P is playing with never-before-seen confidence--perhaps because that shoulder is finally healthy--and I think Iowa's opponents are going to continue noticing.

You hear hints that there are issues with the team (e.g., CJ and Nunge), but almost everything I have seen is that Fran creates a atmosphere where the guys are like a big family. Fran occasionally makes some questionable decisions, but he loves his players and they seem to know it. He brings in young men with good character, unlike some other programs that are looking for talent alone. If I am wrong, I would appreciate hearing some specifics.

Not wrong. A lot of Fran's recruits have strong Christian values, including the National POY that just graduated.
