Someone gave me a bunch of old newspapers and I found this little gem from 98 years ago. I love this kind of stuff.
Hawkeyes to Hold Wrestling Tourney
Iowa City, Ia., March 15, 1924
(Special)—A University wrestling tournament will be thrown open to all Iowa grappling aspirants next week. Entries will close Monday and the preliminaries will be run off on March 19, 20, and 21. The finals will be held later in the year in conjunction with the boxing tournament finals.

Wish there were more individual tournaments during the year - like the way high school does it. Nothing better than watching 2 heavy hitters battle it out in the finals.

loved tournament wrestling, making weight for 1 match just pissed me off.
