Really? Capacity <9k, built in 1927.Berta and the Iowa staff should take some notes on what Iowa's new Fieldhouse type arena should look like.

Iowa plays PSU in Philly, not on their God-forsaken campus. I like Iowa's chances there.

That corner is pretty much taken up by recent and planned construction.Yes minus the 1927 part. I think it should be somewhere in the 11-12 range with a nice vertical pitch and made for sound.
The Corner of Burlington and Clinton would be perfect

How much can the AD mark you down for a donation to make this happen?
Just getting Gabe back would have been huge. Dumbest miskake ever made by Fran was burning Gabe's RS his Fr year for a few minutes. If Gabe and A White had another year of eligibility that 2015-2016 season we would've been a Final Four contender. Those guys were fun to watch
Love the idea, but traffic and parking would be a nightmare.I think the Old Capital mall could be a great new place to house an arena for indoor sports (basketball, volleyball, wrestling, etc), if the University could get it and renovate it.
Plus the businesses in the vicinity would benefit from additional crowds before/after the games.
I am intrigued by the PSU game at the Philadelphia Palestra, which I'm attending. It's not exactly a neutral court but I expect it will draw more hawk fans than just me and my crew, plus the Lions will have to travel to play this home game. Plus it's Fran's old home court! I like our chances.

Mostly Mike G. He was mental at the line under pressure. Almost certain to miss the front end of 1 and 1. We've gotten used to Jordan hitting 90% and having the ball in his hands at the end of the game. Very reliable ball handler and great shooter in pressured situations.
Nobody is single teaming Garza the rest of the year.We can be favored in all but 2 or 3 games if we keep rolling, and keep our remaining top 8 healthy...
I'm betting on Garza and his King Kong mentality and physical strength towards the game. He is a beast!
Win, win, loss, win, revenge, win, win, loss. Michigan isn't going to win single teaming Garza again. Fran will take them out at home. We'll Get revenge against Maryland, and take them out in the B1G tourney. Boom!
I know what you are saying about Wisky. I hope for the teams sake that they are able to win enough games to make the dance again this year. This team deserves it.I said the next 7 thread that you'll learn a lot about this team. You'll learn more in these next 8, it ain't a cakewalk for sure.
I don't care what their record is as long they beat Wisky.
Very doable 5-3...Michigan very winnable at home hoping to take 2 of my boys to that one.
PSU will be favored and should be. Iowa has won in some very tough environments already this year. I expect a very close game that could go either way.The Palestra game is officially a sell-out now, FYI. Not to be a homer, but that is going to be an extremely tough atmosphere for Iowa to walk out of with a W. Beyond the fact that it is the Palestra and will be a pro-PSU crowd, Lamar and Mike are both going to be a little extra juiced up to be playing in their hometown, in front of friends and family, during their senior year.
I'm looking forward to a physical, hard-fought, injury-free game (FYI, PSU had a practice at the Palestra 2 days ago).
I'm not going to be at all disappointed with 4-4. It is a brutal and competitive league. Injuries will probably have an impact. They've already hit us pretty hard, not sure of the impact so far on other teams but you know there will be.3-5 / 4-4 is the likeliest outcome - and I was bullish on the non-con even after DePaul! The B1G is just a murderer's row, so balanced top to bottom. Even Northwestern is looking better - almost beat DePaul!

Speaking of injuries, the PSU starting PG just took an elbow to the face and is now in street clothes on the bench with a towel over his face/head. Hopefully it's not a concussion and he is ready to go in 6 days.I'm not going to be at all disappointed with 4-4. It is a brutal and competitive league. Injuries will probably have an impact. Iowa won at IA State. Not going to see a more hostile environment than that on so I don't think that will help PSU. PSU has enough talent to win. That is the biggest obstacle. The Palestra game is officially a sell-out now, FYI. Not to be a homer, but that is going to be an extremely tough atmosphere for Iowa to walk out of with a W. Not looking for sympathy, but just thought that that was relevant to this discussionI hope the PSU point guard is OK also. But, you might have come to the wrong site looking for injury sympathy.
Hardly. There would be a large net gain.at the expense of other places
