Hawk's Bench Helped Beat Purdue Today

The four man Hawkeye Bench played 50 minutes and
scored 19 points against Purdue today. They made five
3 pointers which really helped. So congrats to Uhl,
Baer, Essington, and Wagner for a job well done. We
need to applaud their efforts.

When your bench consists of 3 freshmen and 1 sophomore
then they are gaining experience on the fly.

Great stat on this team. During the 23-6 run to start the second half, 7 different Hawks scored. Great team play.

This bench makes this Iowa team just plain good. We have five great starters led by a 1st team All-American, the look in their faces/eyes during the games is one of pure confidence that they are better than the opponent. The reserves come in and the opponent is unable to come to grips with the energy and talent level of the reserves, it baffles the other team as to who is in the game now and what should they do. Our reserves get it done. Fran does a great job of letting the team be basketball players and not to be game managers. Go Hawks.
