Then Edinboro before Baumgardner went there. Gable sent a back-up or two to jump-start his program and one won a national title for him. The name is escaping me right now, I think O'Day or something like that, a 134 lber I believe.
Thanks for the explanation. I've always known that as the "elevator."Rico Roll - Guy is in on a high crotch (so, head to outside), both wrestlers are standing (defensive wrestler on only one leg because offensive wrestler has high crotch leg elevated. Defensive wrestler then hooks over the head and around the chin (as one would in a front headlock) and gets an underhook with the other arm. Finally, defensive wrestler rolls backward across his own back and keeps rolling all the way through until the offensive guy is on his back and in deep doo-doo.
I believe it was Lewis who had that rare condition where he did not have a pectorial major muscle so he was able to sink a head lock so deep that it was next to impossible to escape.Lewis- Hip Toss
Steiners'- Leg ride/Turk/Half
Alger's- Front Head lock/Front cowcatcher
Rico Roll

I saw Lou Banach toss a heavy with a lace leg throw. Incredible.
Lenny Z- double leg TD
Jimmy Z- Barzigar ( high crotch to a step-across)
Pete Bush- Metzger/upper body work
Barry Davis- single leg snatch+ heave-ho
Greg Randall- pancake
Hip Toss the sig move for Randy Lewis? More like the body-lock whip-over and also lace-leg throw. Impossible leg too.
Ed Banach had a similar move with the bear-hug, only he horsed sideways and over.
No, David Ray was the one I was thinking of, but I knew a couple other Iowa back-ups went too. I had forgotten that Edinboro was still Div. II then. Kaufmann did not place at Div I Nationals though after winning Div II. Ray got 2nd in DII and 3rd in DI.
