H4H has contractor folks that supervise everything and dole out pretty specific jobs to volunteers. You definitely don't need to be an expert. It's a great organization.
If anyone is serious, Nov. 16 is an Iowa bye week Saturday. Iowa City. If there is legit interest, they block off days for groups as well.

Wear weather-appropriate clothing that you don't mind getting dusty or dirty. Closed-toed shoes are required

Des Moines has a robust chapter as well. They surely have builds going on, but Saturdays usually fill up fast. Weekdays are much more open obviously. I have beds to crash on in Des Moines and could take a day off work if needed.
Otherwise, come to IC on Friday night and we hit the bars with the college kids.😎

I would happily make a DSM weekday work. Sounds fun. I literally have no construction experience other than grain bins and morton bulidings 25 years ago. Like I said......its the sweat equity that counts. Let the people that know what they are doing do their thing. I might learn a few lessons.

There's enough here in NC to keep me and my credit card busy but I really do wish you well. Post some pics.
I'd go to N.C. but wife would be pissed when I'm gone for a month spending money on hotel rooms / eating out all the time. I don't blame her.

Does it count if I round up some illegals from the Home Depot and pay them to do the manual labor?
Sometimes I feel bad that I have nothing good to say to Trad. He is harmless. I don't know why. These days I just do it just for fun.
