People poked fun at Islam and it got them slaughtered. Evangelical Christianity is more than religion...it's a political force in this country. Can it not be made fun of, either?
Because it’s too sensitive and personal for many. I didn’t agree with poking fun at Islam, although I obviously have a much bigger issue with the people who murdered over it.

If all of Christianity was made up of evangelicals, then I wouldn’t care. The same as I wouldn’t care about Islam being mocked if all Muslims were terrorists.

It’s just best to steer away from shit like that IMO.

Sorry…no subject should be off-limits especially when no one is being forced to experience content they might find “objectionable”.

Who gets to decide which subjects should be steered away from?

I completely disagree

So we can now poke fun at lib religion (trans issues, for instance), no problem?

Because I know from personal experience, we weren't allowed to, as recently as yesterday.

Doubtful. I live in America.
Remember when the Trey Parker and Matt Stone tried to put Mohammad in an episode and Comedy Central had to the edit the episode because of the death threats. Not saying it will happen, but the chances of it happening aren't 0. Especially if it goes viral.

Mohammad is in every episode of South Park in the beginning credits. I think they liked the edit as a joke

It’s just my opinion.

You’re right that no subject should be off limits, I just think it would be in better taste not to do it on the holiest day of the year for Christians.

So...no one should claim any "day" for their cause on ANY day that Easter could possibly fall on, then?

Easter gets to block off that entire portion of the calendar? April Fool's Day goes away, too?

Seems awfully Theocratic, to me..

Again, it’s just my opinion.

I’m not trying to be pedantic about it.

you can recognize those days in other years

but when that day coincides with a day that has a higher ranking on the hierarchy, then you can't say anything about it

Oh...so Christians determine the "hierarchy" then....

Again: very Theocratic.
