Absolutely amazing game! You guys are freaking athletic and built like a football team. Fun team to watch.
It really was. 2 really good teams. A full 40 minute battle.
Rutgers threw Iowa off their game for 34-35 minutes. That physicality makes Iowa look pedestrian at times. Great game!
That game would've made for an incredible atmosphere with a packed arena too.
This was a very entertaining game, but it is easier for me to say that with Iowa pulling out the win. High respect to you for posting this on a Hawkeye board after a difficult loss.
Meh, they weren't drilling ridiculous shots like some other teams we've faced.
Those are the teams that piss me off, because you never know what will happen.
I just think these are two contrasting styles of play that match up well, and the result is some really good games that come down to the final possessions.
I'd rather take that than being afraid to play a streaky, unpredictable 3 pt shooting team, or steal a win against MSU/Wisconsin and skate out of town hoping they don't get a chance at a revenge game.
I don't get the feeling that Rutgers will circle us like they did a couple years ago after the Wieskamp shot.

That was as entertaining of a game from tip to finish as you’ll see.
Neither team had a big lead but it was constant swings of 1 team up 5 then the other up 3 & so on. All game long.

Classy post after a tough loss. Kudos. I absolutely love your coach. I have watched several of your games this year and that is a tough, well coached basketball team. Rutgers will be a force as long as he is your coach.
I agree with this. Pikiell can recruit and coach with the best of them. There are some coaches who do something in-game that makes me scratch my head. Pikiell's teams always seems to do the right things. Iowa had to work for every point, fight for every rebound, just like every game we have played against RU.

As long as you don't do what you did to us last time we won close. My daughter wasn't even 1 and she had to witness a murder during her first Hawkeye game ever.
It was a very good game and you are right, two very good teams. Now back to the meat grinder and hoping that we don't lose to someone unexpected.
I will say that I am very glad Geo Baker didn’t get a clean look at a shot the possession he lost the ball at the end. That guy is a stone cold killer and I have little doubt the shot would’ve dropped. Massive credit to Bohannon for stepping up defensively in a critical situation as well. Great game Rutgers fans, and already looking forward to the next one
I would bet there will not many visiting teams escape with a W when they journey to the RAC.
