I am definitely not from a wrestling pedigree, so I don't proclaim to be an expert or anywhere close. But of course I cheer for all things Hawks whenever I get the chance and understand Iowa wrestling is like Kentucky basketball. So please take it easy. Not trying to stir sh!t up, just asking a few things.
First, are our wrestlers taught to be more conservative than others? Did not get to see the NCAA finals, but in other televised matches, the guys seem to be either tentative or defensive. I don't expect them to go all shot-crazy, but other than Gilman and Brooks(?), the wrestlers don't seem overly aggressive. Kinda reminds me of low scoring Lickliter bball, but obviously we're more successful than that and it's a bit of apples and oranges. Is that coaching and is wrestling going toward that style or away from it?
Second, why do all the other teams seem to be jacked muscle-wise, but our guys are more slender? Is that a recruiting thing or an indication of our s/c program? The times I've seen the PSU wrestlers, they look like they could all play linebacker for the FB team.
Leads me to my third question. Is Cael the next Gable at PSU? They seem to be building a dynasty. How can we catch up and keep the gap as narrow as possible?
