Help the Dan Dennis Family to Rio...gofundme

Agree. Brazil currency is terrible right now so every dollar gets you 3.5 Reals so $20K USD = $70K Reals. Obviously flights will have to be paid in USD. Think gofundme takes 7% as well.

Saw Brett Stedman's name on the list. Did he have a twin bro on the team too? There was a few of them I think with a set of twins.

I think it was Chet Steadman...

In case anyone's curious about who drew this logo, it was former Iowa wrestler and extremely talented artist Jeret Chiri. Pretty cool.
I'm just gonna assume that he or someone else is currently in the process of making these shirts for purchase and will post the link here to buy once finished...

Ben was his name. Brett was at 149 would often roll around with Metcalf, Ben was at 165 and would practice with Perry. Good guys.

Chiri is planning on making this into a shirt is what I have been told.

As IAWrestle said above, it's been suggested to Jeret (although I assume he was already thinking of it), and I'd be surprised if we didn't see that t-shirt roll out within the next couple of months.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I'm pretty sure that nobody can create a t-shirt with the five Olympic rings as depicted in the picture except the usoc or USA Wrestling!

Ha!
That shirt could be created in less than hour and as long as nobody got rich off of it nobody with any authority would care. Or at least that's how it works in Chicago.

Mr. Chiri should empower himself and find a teeshirt maker ASAP because "it's easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission"

Change the rings to ovals or change the colors. Who the hell cares? I want one.

I'm up for 5 if the proceeds go to Dennis.

Actually the HWC has it on some t shirts and coats. I am sure they know how to get around it or comply. The real challenge would be paying for the licensing and multi colors which ratchets the price up. I would GLADLY pay $50 for a shirt like this to support the cause and have an AWESOME shirt. I am sure others would as well. Worst case scenario take the rings off although I like the colors and the rings!

Yep, I believe they both wrestled out of Sioux City (Heelan for H.S. I think), and I saw them kicking butt in kids tournaments for years in Northwest Iowa. One of them did see a little Varsity action at Iowa I believe.

I'll donate to Tervel and family if he can be swayed to come to Iowa City and train after the Olympics to help Bobby and future of Iowa Wrestling! Absolutely kidding, but also VERY mildly serious. THIS is the reason to be a Hawkeye and be a part of the Hawkeye family. Best fan base in the country! Hope Tervel and family meet their goal as well, but it's great to be a Hawkeye and happy for the Dennis family!

I'm going to contribute to Tervel later today. I noticed "Wendy Hawkeye" donated so I'm going to used the Hawkeye family name too. Let's get him over the top. [If the "Hawkeye" family can help get the Dlagnev family to Rio can you imagine the hate that's going to generate on themat.com]

Darn it that is a great idea. Anyone know if you can edit to switch from anonymous to public?

I'm in Dan, glad you're out from under. You worked so hard for every bit of this. Go wrestle your dream match.

Does it matter who knows if so you are giving for the wrong reason.

I'd like to see a lot of Rivals references. Yeah, it kind of matters to me. If it were personal I would have been happy just listing my real name. I'd like to see Iowa Rivals represented.

That was me. I'm sure you guys figured that out though. :)

Ironically, my wife's name is Wendy, and she couldn't be less interested in wrestling. I wish she could snag some of that wrestling mojo of yours, Wendy79! She's about 99% perfect -- the only thing keeping her from absolute perfection is a love of wrestling!

Well lookie here, Sans and his mini-posse contributed a double cheeseburger meal to the Dennis family.
I think he's teachin' the young'uns if you want to be stingy on the mat, you got to be stingy in life.
