BRONCOSWIRE led with a photo of Henry Krieger Coble today, and had a good discussion of the probability of HKC and Casey Kreiter making the 53-man roster. They projected a tough battle between Casey and Georgia free agent Nathan Theus for long snapper, then had this to say about HKC's chances:

"Henry Krieger Coble, Tight End

If you know anything about head coach Gary Kubiak, you know that he loves tight ends. He also loves a particular type of tight end.

Henry Krieger Coble is that type of tight end, and he will have a great chance to make this team as a result.

Playing at the University of Iowa, Krieger Coble comes from an offense similar to the one Kubiak likes to run. It’s the same reason the Broncos brought in offensive lineman James Ferentz last year, the son of Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz.

Krieger Coble can play inline or as a move tight end. He has good hands and is solid as a run blocker. His athleticism and ability to play all over the field makes him perfect for a zone-blocking offense.

Last year, he was second on the Hawkeyes with 35 receptions for a team that had an undefeated regular season. He’ll likely have to beat out Garrett Graham—assuming Virgil Green and Jeff Heuerman are locks to make the team—to win a roster spot, but he is capable of doing that.

When watching Krieger Coble play, he’ll remind you a lot of Owen Daniels, another favorite of Kubiak’s."

Denver also has a long run of successful undrafted free agents making the roster and being successful.

Did HKC play a lot of special teams, that is also a big focus of Kubiak.

Everytime I read something like that it strikes me how tough it is to win over the critic. Iowas offense is similar to much of the NFL if not most and yet we are widely panned by our in house critics. But to be fair Gary Kubiak got ran out of Houston and if you ask any of their fans they think he is a horrendous coach and now here he is....a world champion!! Funny how the world turns.

Per HKC he is a stud and I expect him to play in the NFL for years to come.

Denver's offense didn't win them the world championship last year it was the defense. That defense was in place when Kubiak arrived. Denver had the best offense in the NFL when they got smashed by Seattle in the Super Bowl. After that Elway focused on building a winning defense. Even Barry Switzer won a world championship proving with the right talent anyone can win one. Kubiak's offense will be a joke in 2016, let it be written, let it be done.

Maybe I'm no Gary Kubiak fan but the truth is he still won the SB and that defense looked terrible when Seattle blew them out of the water.

Did you read the part were I said Elway focused on building a winning defense after that super bowl ? It wasn't the same defense. Only four starters that played against Seattle in the Super Bowl started on last years team. That's a 64 % turn over !

Geez I don't know I know all of us at work thought it was a pretty damn good defense the year before.
They played Seattle in the super bowl two years ago not last year. Most of the Bronco fans still think Timmy Tebow should be playing football so what does that tell you ?

Yes I lost track of time...all the same Gary Kubiak won a super bowl, that's my point. Not that big a difference between a pretty good coach and a supposedly great coach Bill Belichik still does a lot of head scratching things? I think we as fans take it too personally and try to make ourselves look smart way too much. Once again I'm not a Kubiak fan but if he got fired tomorrow he'd have a job as an OC somewhere the next day.

I'm a Bronco fan and I hope Tebow never plays another snap of football. Even if it's a video game. I almost quit being a Bronco fan when they drafted him, he was awful.
Wasn't Lane Kiffin the Bronco head coach at the time or am I confusing him with somebody else? Whomever it was they drafted Tebow in the first round. Couldn't believe it then still can't now.

Coach was Josh McDaniels that drafted Tebow if I am not mistaken. Has not been an HC since.
