If parking your arse in one spot and drinking all morning at the beautiful fairgrounds isn't your thing, consider hitting this little corner of DT and then taking the train to the stadium > https://www.google.com/maps/@44.9847473,-93.2788121,17z You can see there are many drinking establishments within crawling distance of the train platform at Target Field--don't miss Inbound Brewing! No car, no traffic and pick right up where you left off after the game.

Surly is the most widely know brewery in Minnesota, but there is better beer in the Twin Cities. Barrel Theory, Black Stack, Dangerous Man, Modist, to name a few. I even prefer the one 4 blocks from my house, Hammerheart. Depends on your personal preferences though. Honestly, the Twin Cities have become a great place to be a beer lover. Can’t forget Rochester, Duluth, Fargo/Moorhead. Let the debate begin......

Anybody know how close to the stadium the light rail goes? Or the shuttle from the fairgrounds? (One of our party has a walking issue). Thx.

Sigh. I've been wanting to go to an Iowa-Minnesota game in Minneapolis for 12 years now, but have always either been busy or couldn't afford to make the trip.

It looks like Surly is really close to TCF. What other bars and breweries are really close. Don't really want long walks.

How is Uber in that area, is it too congested or does it work pretty well?

There's really not a lot of options near the stadium, just a few campus bars (it's not like Iowa City). The warehouse district is packed with places. Surly is a cool place (and big) but it's usually quite busy on weekends.

Plenty of Uber and Lyft drivers. Stadium access isn't as bad as Melrose or Hawkins Dr on an IOWA gameday. They'll be able to get you pretty close...certainly within a couple blocks. Set your destination for Dinkytown if you don't mind walking a few blocks. Just a couple bars there (it's not as dense with bars as ICity). The Alumni Assoc tailgate is in Lot37, closer to that side of the stadium.

also a couple bars just West of the stadium (stadium village) even closer to TCF. Sally's and Stub and Herb's. They'll be packed. I think you'll see lots of Hawks fans party downtown and then hop the train which drops you off right by Sally's or Stub and Herb's, then the stadium. The Hawkeye Huddle is also right across from Sally's at The Graduate Hotel.

Celebrate the victory with shitloads of IOWA fans afterwards at The Loop...the downtown MPLS Hawkeye bar. You could spend all night in the warehouse district...lots of great places for food and beer. If you like smaller local joints, go to a pub in Nordeast. (Northeast MPLS, just across the river from downtown. A very short Uber ride).

Great information. Thank you. So the warehouse district is where the loop is?

Yep, "The Loop" is a bar in the Warehouse district. The end of the lite rail line is at Target Field, just a few blocks away. The green line goes from there right to TCF Bank stadium. (and on to St Paul...so be sure you get off). Don't get on the blue line or you'll end up at Mall of America

If you want more of a "Jordan Creek" vibe, take a quick Uber/Lyft to "The Shops at West End"...a small shopping area with 6-7 good places to eat drink.

There are plenty of Uber and Lyft drivers at all times, none of these places is very far.
