1) How long does it usually take to get the permit to acquire a handgun? I did not worry about this with my C&R license but I just found out I need a buyers permit to pick up my more modern handgun from the local FFL holder. Oops

2) I think there may be some good prices on imported used FN Browning HP 35s on GunBroker.com. There are a few under $400 and a lot between $400 and $500. Not cheap but I think High Powers usually go for more. A couple of descriptions mention Israeli police markings so maybe these from CDISales are a mix of military and police trade ins? Thought some on here might be interested.

Wanted to update this in case anyone was curious about the time factor. I applied online for the handgun permit (just to buy) Friday around noon. Mid morning the next Tuesday I received acknowledgement it had been approved and I have picked it up already. Now that is service

Down here in Missouri you can walk into a gun store, and leave with your handgun, so long as you pass the federal background check. Takes a matter of minutes.

Missouri isn't the only state like this.

You do realize that criminal and public records are computerized, right? They have been for the past 20 years.
They put in your name, address and birthdate. If the FBI or State doesn't have any hits on your name, you are allowed to purchase.
