I don't disagree with most of those but illegal immigration isn't what is keeping wages down. The systematic destruction of unions and off-shoring is what is keeping wages down. I don't like just giving money to the middle class (how would that work anyway?). I like redistributing the wealth through providing more jobs and paying more for those jobs. Raising minimum wages is a way to do this (increasing union participation will do this as well, but too many people have been brainwashed into thinking unions are the devil), but there also needs to be incentives for keeping jobs here in America. Raise taxes on companies that off-shore jobs and reduce taxes for companies that keep jobs here at home (I'm pretty sure that probably violates about 10 trade treaties but those treaties haven't really been good for American workers anyway).
Also, we need to keep the talent we train at home. Right now, other countries are out-competing us with people who were trained at American colleges and universities. When we train these people, we need to keep them here. I realize this won't sit well with the anti-immigrant crowd but part of the problem is America isn't producing enough engineers and other skilled technicians anymore. The cause of that is another issue but all we are doing right now is being a farm team for China and other countries.
