Hitting the ball after a made shot

Of course I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I believe the ref twice warned Indiana against hitting the ball after a made basket. This prevents Iowa from running a break or getting the ball down court quickly. The 2nd time is supposed to be a technical I thought. Anyone else see this?

yes absolutely. I often wonder Hooper if they get a warning each half. Not sure on that though. But it aggravates me as well.

That and how many times did it the ref push Crean back into the coaching area?

They can hit it within reason, such as tossing it to the ref or rolling it to the end line. But anything more runs the chance of becoming a delay of game. They get a warning. I don't recall Indy getting one, but I have noticed that teams have made a point to make sure we can't get up the floor in a hurry.

I recall Indy getting a warning in the first half. Don't know about anything other than that as I didn't get to watch the second half. Ohio State got two warnings on Sunday with no foul call. I don't know if this is really intentional as opposed to force of habit for players.

If someone intentionally wanted to slow us down they would just have someone dedicated to grab the ball as it comes out of the net and throw it to the ref to give the rest of his teammates time to get down the floor. But I can't imagine that happening. I'd also be interested to see if the refs would allow that to happen all game long.

It's defintley intentional and coached by our opponents. And since it never gets called beyond the warning why wouldn't they? There was definitely a stoppage to give a warning in the first half because the stoppage became a TV timeout - without it there's no dead ball to cause the timeout. If it's a known thing you can't do I don't understand the warning aspect. The don't warn you not to travel once, or warn you about a 5-second call, or a 3-seconds in the lane, or really anything else.
