I'm sure glad it's all about the student athletes at Iowa West Universities wrestling program.
I mean c'mon, at least put a SR or a couple of the young studs hitting the lineup like Storr and Colbray with line like "the future is now".Maybe it's because they don't have any returning AA's on their team? Iowa usually does returning AA's for their posters right?
I would love it if Brands pulls a remember the titans and hands Dresser an orange in the post dual hand shake. $100 to the HWC if this happens.
LOL! This is f*cking hilarious. This might be the first college sports poster in history to not have a single athlete from the team on the poster. F*cking gold.
125: Danny Vega vs Spencer Lee
133: Ian Parker/Markus Simmons vs Phil Laux
141: Kanen Storr vs Vince Turk
149: Dante Rodriguez/Jarrett Degen vs Brandon Sorensen
157: Colston DiBlasi vs Michael Kemerer
165: Skyler St. John vs Alex Marinelli
174: Hank Swalla vs Kaleb Young
184: Dane Pestano vs Pat Downey
197: Sammy Colbray vs Cash Wilcke
285: Marcus Harrington/Gannon Gremmel vs Sam Stoll
If we roll that lineup out, does anyone think a shutout is possible? I think the toughest matches will be 133 and 141, followed by 197. Other 7 weights should win relatively easy with lots of bonus points. Would be pretty funny to shut out ISU in their home gym in the first year with this hyped coaching staff, though I'm guessing they'll win at least 1 match.

I don't think here will be a shutout. You are correct 33,41, & 97 could go either way. They are at home so I expect them to take a few.125: Danny Vega vs Spencer Lee

I would work off the premise that Lee won't be wrestling. First three are fun. 97 Wilke slight favorite, but....So could lose up to 4. Simmons and Storr, IMO, would be slight favorites, and I don't think there are enough comparables for 125 to make it anything but a tossup.I don't think here will be a shutout. F** that!

Looks like a male model poster...
Honestly, I like that staff alot. It's a salesman and three great mechanics.
Jackson brought in a heck of a class before he left. Maybe he used up all the money on those guys. Hard to recruit with no money.ISU...lol Looks like that staff is realizing getting elite kids to Ames might be a bit more challenging than getting them to VT.
But hey...they got the kid to flip from UW/LaCrosse.
Smith, Mantanona, & Verkleern all left when KJ got canned. Well I guess KJ pulled Mantonana's offer when he went to Oklahoma. Those guys had to be getting some $ so there should be some to go around.Jackson brought in a heck of a class before he left. Maybe he used up all the money on those guys. Hard to recruit with no money.
KD left a program on the rise for a program needing a total rebuild away from a geographical hotbed. That's a big hill to climb.Jackson brought in a heck of a class before he left. Maybe he used up all the money on those guys. Hard to recruit with no money.
to be fair, Iowa had the "there's only one" poster a few years ago when brands came back, I am drawing a blank if there were any "then current" wrestlers on it, I remember gable, mcilravy, ironside on the poster, along with the current coaching staff....sometimes it might need to be done....if you can remember any wrestlers on it, please enlighten....
That poster had current Iowa wrestlers on it.

Perry and Alex Tsirtsis. Hard for me to see who the others are since it's blurry.

I believe the implication was brands saying "there's only one dan gable" and gable saying "there's only one tom brands" etc....why are the names not matching up with the pictures?
Brands picture has Gables name and vice versa
Lincoln is under Perry and Perry under Lincoln...
It appears you've been to practice recently.Turk over Storr is easy money. Probably a major.

Don’t think it has anything to do with getting them to Ames. It has everything to do with bringing them in to a dumpster fire of a program.ISU...lol Looks like that staff is realizing getting elite kids to Ames might be a bit more challenging than getting them to VT.

If true, this is very encouraging.Turk over Storr is easy money. Probably a major.
