The sad thing is, it's really not hard to not be an asshole. And most Badger fans are super cool - and like to chill out, drink a few beer, grill some brats and enjoy competitive football games and enjoy both Iowa City and Madison as super cool college towns.
Unfortunately, Buckyville has about a half-dozen vociferous jackasses that derail any decent conversation.
Not all Badger sites are full of aholes, though. Example:

I had never been to Kinnick Stadium, so covering Saturday night’s contest between the now-No. 15
Wisconsin Badgersand the
Iowa Hawkeyescertainly set a high bar both on the field and in other ways.
First off, for those driving through southwestern Wisconsin to Iowa City—about a three-hour drive from Madison—the scenic view of that section of the Badger State is fantastic. Barely any flat land at all and tons of rolling hills. It really is a fast drive compared to, say, Champaign.
After the first quarter came the coolest aspect of covering the game: the waving of the players/crowd to the families near the top of the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

“The Wave” to the kids at the children’s hospital at Iowa is one of the best traditions in college football.
I don't think much else needs to be said about it other than what a wonderful gesture and fantastic tradition that’s been started.

Surely, you have all heard Gus Johnson’s call by now: “ICE. WATER. IN HIS VEINS.”

The redshirt junior signal caller completed 17 of 22 pass attempts for 205 yards and three touchdowns, coming up huge on the go-ahead drive by completing all five of his passes for 67 yards.
The offense was not perfect on Saturday night, but that drive was methodical, utilized various contributors, and Hornibrook steadied the ship down the field until the offense hit paydirt to take the lead.

Maybe lost in the shuffle of skill-position players, but this is a lineman who had to wear two different numbers to play two different positions. The redshirt junior wore No. 96 in Wisconsin’s “Jumbo” package as an extra lineman/pseudo-tight end, then went back to his normal No. 78 to play the rest of the game at center when redshirt sophomore
Tyler Biadaszwas injured.
Just another example of a former walk-on not just filling in the gap when called upon, but excelling.
Alec Ingold
He turns a fullback reverse of sorts into a 33-yard touchdown run to ice the game in Wisconsin’s favor with 22 seconds left. Before that, a 33-yard reception to begin the second quarter led directly to a 1st-and-Goal opportunity where Hornibrook found tight end
Jake Fergusonfor a touchdown.
Surprisingly, no fullback dives were called against the Hawkeyes, but Ingold contributed—once again—in a versatile manner.
Ryan Connelly
With his parents in attendance, the redshirt senior—whose father went to school at Iowa—recorded six tackles with a key tackle for loss.
The entire punt coverage unit
Hey, this group of Badgers created two of UW’s three turnovers. Yes, the Iowa special teamer made a poor decision that allowed Wisconsin to get the ball on the Hawkeyes’ 10-yard line, but the third phase of the game can make or break teams.
