Check out that offer list for Michigan's recent lb from Bama
Michigan has received verbals from 2 2 star recruits this week. I know Michigan is going to recruit better players than Iowa, but it's not like they are avoiding lower rated players and signing 5 star studs every month during the recruiting cycle.

Doesn't this update imply that the Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, NIU, WMU, etc. coaches all had a look at this kid at their camps and chose not to offer? It's not like the kid is a hidden gem playing 8 man football out in a corn field.

I would love to see PHX and IowaLaw sit down with these kids in a room and talk negatively about their ability. The outcome would be predictable.

Sad to read the same crap from the same Boneheads. Definitely not Hawk fans.

I want to welcome Mr. Wade and Mr. Hooker to the Hawkeye family.

We are really dominating the MAC this year. Perhaps if we switched conferences, we could compete for a conference championship...

How did I talk negatively about their ability? All my posts are about the lack of ability/desire the Iowa staff has competing against other BCS level football programs. If I was in the room with these kids I would tell them good luck to whatever they choose to do, nothing else. I certainly wouldn't kiss their feet or beg for them to go to my favorite college team. As for communication with the coaches, I ended all communication with the staff 2-3 years ago when I couldn't handle what was taking place any longer.

I'm a heck of a lot less a hawk fan than I used to be because of the outrageous staleness of this football program. 5 years of mediocrity and a lack of a pulse forced me to root for my wife's alma mater and still check on the hawks here and there. Call that a bandwagon fan, I don't really care. I can't stand watching a stale program anymore, it drove me crazy in 2011-2013 before I stopped caring like I used to.

Ok, so long I guess. Sorry you do not care.

I see a lot of you are complaining about lack of BCS offers as a gauge for recruiting, well.......FYI, Nebraska has 9 recruits with 61 BCS offers, Iowa 9 recruits with 6 BCS offers, if I counted right, good thing Ferentz is such a wizard at game coaching and player development (at least he was with the old staff), of you'd be in trouble!:)

Yes, that would be a bandwagon fan.

Enjoy cheering for the other team, I would wager a guess that they are winning, so enjoy it.

That's 9 recruits with 9 BCS offers, but really that matters little. Kirk has proven over the years that he is excellent at evaluating talent. If I were you, I would be more concerned with what kind of team ole Riley puts on the field at Nebraska, instead of spouting off about Iowa's recruiting.

Good for you PHX. As a general rule, Iowa and every other college/team out there needs more folks like you. If you, or any one else for that matter, "can't stand watching" then by all means stop watching. If you are "forced to root" for another team, so be it. I mean this sincerely. It's sports. A game played by kids. And it will in all probability have zero lasting impact on your life. If you can't enjoy it, move on.

Live an enjoyable life, not a miserable one. If coming on message boards to consistently bitch about this coach or that play call is what makes someone happy, hooray for them, it's a good thing these forums exist. Unfortunately this is also where I get my news about Iowa sports. I grew up a fan and will die a fan. I will watch any game I get a chance to and if that makes me an idiot in anyone's eyes, too bad. My life, my choices. And besides win or lose, about 10 minutes after the game, I move on.

Good luck to your wife's alma mater, hope it's a good year. Keep checking back, maybe in a few years things will change.

Well said.
Some people have their identity linked to a team, college or professional, and are totally dependent upon that team to provide them with self worth.

So from what I gather if message board posters were the recruiters they would simply offer kids based on who was offering them instead of doing their own evaluations. That seems like a great idea...

No - all you can say is they haven't offered yet. Do you believe all schools put all offers out to kids before their senior year?

No it's pretty much based on the star ratings by the 3 guys who work for rivals who have apparently watched every kid play every game.

Minnesota likely would have offered it they had room.

Not completely accurate. Minnesota is still recruiting D-back so "they have room." However, they offered some other guys ahead of him and they aren't taking a lot of dbacks this year. . That said, if they miss a couple guys it wouldn't surprise me for them to come back to Hooker and see if he's interested. They just like a couple other guys, specifically Tyler Johnson from Minneapolis, a little bit better. I'm sure there are other years where Hooker would have gotten a Gopher offer, so you're probably right in that sense.

So 1 year after an Orange Bowl victory was when you started to lose interest?

If you watch the film of Hooker, he appears to have good speed and talent on both sides of the ball. Also, an
impressive collection of returns for touchdowns. I think we got a good one.

So let's say throughout the season Minnesota, Wisconsin and Missouri end up offering the kid... and he switches his commitment to one of those schools... will you guys bitch about how we didn't land this kid then?
