Micah Hyde? More like a mix between Charles Woodson and Ed Reed.
Not what I was expecting when I opened this thread.
Well it's probably sad that when I hear 'hooker' I'm looking around for a frosh Hawkeye defensive back instead of looking around for my wallet and $50 for a blumpkin....must be gettin old.
Amani Hooker saw some second team reps at SS and also worked on kickoff return team. Definitely looks like one of the true freshmen that will play this year.
Nice seeing freshmen that are physically ready to play. DB's, WR's & RBs are usually more ready than other positions.

I wonder if he out grows safety. That is a good sized freshman safety.

This was one kid I loved us getting last year. Great return man and instinctive playmaker. Future All Big- Ten player.

Yes, and I loved it even more because he's from the Gophers' back yard. Nothing I love more than telling my rodent friends here that the player who just blew up their team's play is from MN.
This whole class was drastically under-rated as have been the last several.
This kid is a tremendous athlete. In HS their QB got hurt so he stepped in and put up great numbers while also playing DB.
All I know is that Hooker had a ton of interceptions in high school. By the time he's in a position to potentially start as a safety, I anticipate that our DL will be impressive, both inside and out. He'll then find himself in a situation where he can continue his ball-Hawking ways!
