Her complaining about not having a day off from her kids in 2 years drives me crazy.
I have 3 kids 9, 7 (8 on the 25th) and 6 (7 in Jan). The last time we were separated from our kids for 24 hours or more. . . when we left the older 2 with my parents rushing to the hospital to give birth to the youngest.
She can't afford daycare, sitter, relatives, or a nanny.
Everytime you say Hope solo, I think of Arby's roast beef sammiches. And Han solo.
Get a better support system. That is absurd and not only do you and the wife need time away, it's good for your kids to not always be around their parents.
To each their own I guess, that wouldnt be good for me. The wife and I take at least a 5 day vacation just the two of us every year and at least two 2-3 day weekend getaways. Good for everyone involved.

I certainly do 1 and 2 every year. 3 is harder as everyone has kids now but a quick weekend golfing trip finds our calendars every once in awhile.
